Tattoos (in General)

ScY June 27 2007 4:46 PM EDT

Why not be able to have a regular tattoo equipped and a lesser tattoo equipped AT THE SAME TIME?

Wait!! Before you say that the game would become unbalanced and life would suck and the sky is falling, hear me out.

If jon could decrease the level increase rate of the tattoos, it could be very viable. It introduces a whole 'nother aspect into the strategy and IS STILL DEFINITLY a ROCK-PAPER-SCISSORS-STICK type of strat. You can go very offensive, or very defensive... or just stay all around.

What do you think?

BootyGod June 27 2007 4:47 PM EDT

Actually... I like this idea.

The only thing I'd say is be careful. A ToA even at tiny levels would still give the innate PTH and therefore be overpowered. because you get the armor and PTH.

QBRanger June 27 2007 4:51 PM EDT

TOA and lesser TOE, I like it!!!!

BootyGod June 27 2007 4:54 PM EDT

Oh, Heh, I read it wrong.

I thought you mean that the use of a Lesser tattoo would still allow you to equip armor. I liked that idea lol.

Two tats? Too much. Sorry.

QBRanger June 27 2007 4:56 PM EDT

Or better yet, imagine a Lesser ROS and a full TOE.

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] June 27 2007 4:59 PM EDT

1 minion teams would be at an even bigger disadvantage =/

AdminNightStrike June 27 2007 5:00 PM EDT

Maybe two lessers.....

Fanta [Fanta's Forge] June 27 2007 5:07 PM EDT

Familiar + lesser Familiar, for a 6 minion team :O

Flamey June 27 2007 5:14 PM EDT

What's going to beat a Full ToE, and Lesser RoS, massive AS and massive damage reduction? There's no real rock-paper-scissors there. Sorry.

QBPit Spawn [Abyssal Specters] June 27 2007 5:26 PM EDT

this is kind of unfair to single minion teams. though i would mind it :)

Silatt June 27 2007 5:32 PM EDT

*dumb look*two tats right...I see that happening. 6 man COC teams ftw

QBPit Spawn [Abyssal Specters] June 27 2007 5:33 PM EDT

well, it could be made fair if lesser tattoos were to replace a different armor piece, such as a helmet or gloves.

Flamey June 27 2007 5:34 PM EDT

"well, it could be made fair if lesser tattoos were to replace a different armor piece, such as a helmet or gloves."

They're even less important than the Cloak/Body Armour slots. I don't see how that could work properly.

Who wouldn't give up a crappy helm or glove for another kill slot?

QBRanger June 27 2007 5:52 PM EDT

People,

Pit was just throwing an idea out there.

I personally do not think it would work. Just make a lesser TOA, put it on a tank and still keep your TSA?

lostling June 27 2007 9:12 PM EDT

-.- just add more fams for kill slots lol doesnt sound good... imagine a 6 minion tea

AdminNightStrike June 27 2007 11:11 PM EDT

You might be able to make dual tats be only lessers, and not able to exceed the MTL, or some function of it similar to getting people in clans. Like, if you can accept a max PR of 100, that doesn't mean you can accept two people at 50. Make the addign of tattoo levels the same.

Having two full tattoos both equal to MTL is out of the question.

Lumpy Koala June 27 2007 11:38 PM EDT

then you would need to increase the max battle round :P And then you need to balance a few tattoos so that they won't become a "necessity" combo. And then you need to think of the max tattoo level problem that NS brought up. And the list goes on...

If I am Jon, I think it's a waste of time :)

Jon's a multi!!!!

I have another idea. Let us equip up to 4 tattoos! Before you scream overpowered, let me tell you my idea. Since we have the max tattoo level, if someone equips 2 or more tattoos, the levels will add up. This means a max tattoo level of 500k can accommodate 2 tattoos of up to 250k level. And 4 tattoos will only act up to 125k level for the same scenario. If you still think it is overpowered, maybe a penalty to the max tattoo level if one has more than 1 tattoo. 2 tattoos will have a 10% reduction to the max tattoo level, 3 tattoos 20% reduction and so on. What do you think?

Ancient Anubis June 28 2007 6:29 AM EDT

heck u can redo tattoos all together. Now tats go on the skin and shouldn't effect whether u can wear armour or not. These tattoos in this game provide magical properties to the wearer.

My idea is first u can still wear all armour.
Second let their be up to 4 tattoos..
1)Leg Tats
2)Arm tats
3)Torso Tats
4)Face tats

Now in regards to what each stat can do.

Leg tats can increase DX or ST or reduce CTH

Arm tats can Increase ST or DX or summon either a Halidon Familiar or Jigorokano Familiar

Torso Tats can increase Strength or HP or increase exp gains or Grants Endurance

Face Tattoo allows the summoning of an Elemental Familiars or increase exp gains or provides boosts to magical resistance or decrease enemy CTH.

Now with the Elemental Familiars and Magical resistance make it that they can only be done on a magician and the familiar or resistance is of the same type as their DD spell. So in other words the tat is giving the wearer greater control over there chosen element. Eg a person with Fireball gets a a fire face tat that either increases their resistance to fire attacks against it or allows it to control a fire familiar.

In regards to the level of the tats each one is 25% of the Max Tattoo. To go with this idea of mine i woulld also propose that to get a tattoo u need to be a certain mpr eg a leg tat can be chosen between 0 and 500mpr, the arm tat is added between 500k and 1mil mpr, the torso tat is then added between 1mil and 1.5mil mpr and the final face tat between 1.5mil+mpr.

I know that this would be a total rewrite almost in regards to tats in the game but i reckon in the long run it could prove to be quite interesting and increase variety of styles and strategies

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 28 2007 6:32 AM EDT

8 Minion Teams. ;)

An extra 15 rounds on combat at least.

Well at least archers would be scuppered! There goes your 4 ranged rounds killing my 4 JKF tattoos. :P

stoner14 June 28 2007 6:34 AM EDT

cb=/ rl man... the reason you can't have it equipped with armor is because it is Jon's way of equating the use of tattoos to balance the infrastructure of fighting(yes i like big words hahahahah) a balanced CB is a fun CB
