QB Nomination -- 2nd Quarter, 2007! (in Contests)

About the QB:

QB stands for Quarter Blender. The QB is the person who truly represents what CB is. The QB is helpful in chat and forum, and usually does what they can to support the community. The QB is what makes CB what it is and part of the reason why we come back. The QB is a person who has already 'won' the game by making it better. It is just time for us recognize this publicly.

The QBs as of now are QBRanger, QBBast, QBsutekh137, QBGentlemanLoser, QBVerifex, QBPixel Sage, QBBarzooMonkey[T], QBSefton, QBOB, and QBPG-Tips(JW). You will note that these players have earned the distinctive title placed before their name. The player you help choose will earn this as well.

The Selection Process:

Before we can have a QB, we need candidates for the honor. Candidates are chosen by you. Simply submit your nomination by going to this link and filling out the information (read below for the "Rules for Nomination"!). Once we have collected enough nominations, a set of candidates will be chosen. Then, in another post I will ask for questions you would like the candidates to answer. In the nomination, you also have a chance to submit a question. The candidates will be given a chance to answer these questions and their responses will be made public. A popular vote of select candidates will be taken and the management of CB will convene to determine who the winner will be using the criteria shown below.

How to submit your nomination: Go here and fill the information out. That's all there is to it!

The Criteria for Selection:

• Time spent on Carnage Blender helping other players and contributing to the CB community as a whole. Some examples include (but are not limited to) creating tables, strategy, fan sites, data collecting, etc.
• Chat participation, forum participation, and community involvement.
• Carnage Blender popular vote.
• Admin. group recommendations.
• Jonathan's input.

Rules for Nomination:

• Nominees may not be Full, Sub, or Tournament Admins, or QBs. Chat Ops are eligible.
• You may not submit a nomination for yourself.
• Nominees must have been playing for at least 2 months; this means anyone with an account created before May 1, 2007 is eligible.
• Nominees must be currently active. If they were great, but they are gone, they aren't really a QB any more.

Once again: You may NOT nominate people who are Full Admins., Sub Admins., Tournament Admins., and current QBs.

I nominate Godwolf for his great attempts to improve the community, for being nice and friendly in chat all the time, taking care of giving everybody a nice welcome and for his great ideas to set up a kind of social system with the community chest. Maybe with some more help from the admins some of his ideas could be a success.

In lieu of a QB award this time, maybe it'd be worthwhile to pick a different accolade for those who already are a QB. A "best of the best" kind of thing.

there's at least 3 nominated, and big list of questions people want asked of them, think interest isn't low except maybe SNKs :P

Best of the best?

I've had this idea before, but.... honestly... it just won't work. It makes it seem like only some of the QBs are worth anything based on the vote. I mean... do any of us really want to see those numbers? I mean.... what if one of the QBs gets like 2% of the vote? Personally, I'd rather just not know. I hate ignorance... but sometimes knowledge ain't so hot either...

Besides, I'm the only one with a name short enough for a Heisman tag, and a poll with only me in it is really pretty unfair. =\

GW - a QB still has meaning, and a lot of meaning. But what it means is that you did a lot for a given quarter, not continuously throughout the life of your entire QB-ing times.

There are plenty of great people and players that deserve the QB.

This quarters vote will be very intense as always.
