Question about naming items in tourneys (in General)

Hey all,
I gots me a question:
Naming items in tourneys.
Now before you laugh read on.
I am not typing about naming a set of leathers but weapons.
With the free 150x on a weapon from naming that is quite powerful considering the lower MPR's of characters in the tourneys.
Yes, I realize it is 5 usd to do it, but imagine a base compound bow named, instantly becomes x151 which is quite uber. For 5 usd, I think people would spend it for a chance to win 5M or more CB2, especially if there are prizes for 2nd and 3rd place.
So, my Q: Is naming items for tourney characters legal, illegal or a gray area?
For the record, it'd be very difficult to name a single item, so you need to find two. Perhaps a tattoo.

Name one on your tourney and one on your main character, problem solved.

My bad, you have to name 2 on your tourney character.
So name your bow and melee weapon, or your bow and arrows for extra oompth.
Personally, and this is just IMO, I don't think this should be allowed. Tourneys should be as fair and even as possible. USD does not make for a level playing field in a tourney. Now if you happen to get a named item from auctions, or the store, thats a different story, but naming items from your tourney character should not IMO be allowed.

If it is allowed in CB-land, it should be allowed in tourneys. Mind you, I am all for doing away with USD across the board, but few people agree with my radical (no transfer) stance. *smile*
If someone wants to give Jonathan $10 every time to win a tournament, more power to them. Don't forget, a lot of the bigger spenders probably won't leave their main characters to tourney anyway, so if someone else wants to spend cash on tourneys, I think it should be allowed.
I agree with Edyit. Sut,cash transfers between your characters are allowed in CB-land but not to tourny chars.
It is also much more beneficial for a tank than mage.

I'd say it shouldn't be allowed. Tourneys are supposed to be a level playing field. There are already plenty of ways of gaining advantage (tattoos and auctions spring to mind) without bringing USD into it.

Sut. They don't have to leave their mains to tourney. From what I have read the BA is a separate BA from your regular characters.

Perfect opportunity for our new Tourney Admin to make an executive decision :)
I will not play any tournament where usd comes to play.
Tournaments should be a fun way to play against others on an equal playing field. Not a chance for someone to throw money at the table and hope to get lucky.

I agree with Sut completely in USD being eliminated form the game completely *Ducks a chair*
But definately a big no no in tourneys if only for morale concern for the people willing to spend it.
Agreed with Edyit and others against USD in tourneys; it creates an uneven playing field, and so it wont be allowed.
*phew* Ranger's a smart enough player, that should be edge enough without cash :)
