I see a lot of talk about Decay not being allowed in a tournament. Why is that? Was this discovered as being a bad thing in CB1?

probably the ability to kill extremely large single characters with a few shots of base decay. double-triple tap them and get easy 10x score / pr ratio.

Check out the score inflation from the first tourney for the reason.

There were a few abandoned character with a low Score/MPR ratio that had tons of HP but no real attack. Using a base decay is a great way to get nice xp for little xp expenditure.
But Decay can't kill people...

Decay can make killing sooooooooo much easier...
nope, but it can make it a whole lot easier for your dinky fireball to kill that one archer who forgot to buy arrows :)
Decay is mainly a problem in tourneys where the score of your character is the win condition, or part of it, other than those allowing decay in other tourneys should be fine
