I'm not sure but I think it had an American,non-accent,accent.Now of all the English speaking countries out there is this a standard ? Or does Scotland have its own accent? Are there Cockney or Australian accented car alarms ?And if there are can you get the different accents and switch out yours or a friends ? Joke wise I can see the possibilities !Someone in CB land must know do you ?

I think they all have no accent...
otherwise the alarm wouldn't be properly understandable in many of the English speaking parts of the world...

Ya but I bet it has more to do with were they are made. My impression is they are made mostly in the States . So it could be the few other ones probably just follow suit .

They must follow the same rule that makes a majority of movies here dubbed in a boring "International French" so that Europe, Canada and Africa all get to understand them.

It's "plastic" and "mechanical" as heck, but I guess it's better than to have to tell you car to speak slowly, or repeat itself :P

I haven't heard one of those in a car yet, but I got yelled at by the air-blowing security detector at the airport when I tried to stand too close to my girlfriend as she went through it first. I was going out of my mind trying to load 2 carry-ons, unpack and load 2 laptops, take my shoes off, and balance my passport/boarding pass when this thing was going, "please stand back, please stand back, please stand back". I had no idea it was 'talking' to me until my girlfriend yelled back at me, 'please stand back!" :O Maybe they should put her voice in the machine to get peoples' attention.
