Boosts familiar's DX (in General)

BootyGod September 2 2007 2:41 AM EDT

Basically, if nothing else, boost the starting DX of familiars to something like 50. At least.

Why? Make familiars more useful on EC teams.

Make it less sucky against tanks. A familiar should not be taking an extra 2 millions damage -_- Or any amount more than your 20 auto DXed enchanter.

put it this way... does your mage train dex? :) but yea perhaps 20 dex is needed

AdminNightStrike September 2 2007 4:36 AM EDT

Familiars have zero DX?

ScY September 2 2007 10:06 AM EDT

According to all current knowledge, the DD familiars do NOT train any type of DX or ST.

This might be a good place to also say that the Hal needs more PTH and more DX, just so it even becomes possible to hit a few times a round.

Adminedyit [Superheros] September 2 2007 11:24 AM EDT

Avarice's familiar 184,600 20 20 0 1,443,752

Looks like my FF has 20 ST and DX from the fight page display.

BootyGod September 2 2007 1:37 PM EDT

No. My level 1.4 million Steel Familiar has 1 DX and ST. I'm not asking for trained DX really, just enough to stop getting 1 or two extra hits. There is such a huge difference between 1 and 20, sometimes it grates on me. We all know there is a huge curve between 0 and 20.

Getting it up to 20 would real just take away that one extra hit. In every battle against archers my familiar ends up with the lowest HP, which shouldn't happen, as it has the second most hitpoints.

BootyGod September 2 2007 1:40 PM EDT

Just checked.

Both my Lesser fire and ice familiar have the standard 20 ST and DX. Yet my SF most DEFINITELY has only 1 and 1.

Is this a glitch? Or a deliberate reduction of SF?

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 2 2007 1:40 PM EDT

there is something else going in that fight GW...

I don't believe there is that much of a difference between 1 and 20 when facing an archery with significant dex...

QBRanger September 2 2007 1:43 PM EDT

As long as you opponent has over 100 dex, it does not matter if you have 1 or 20 dex. He will have a max dex advantage to hit on you.

BootyGod September 2 2007 1:47 PM EDT

It's not that he hits my familiar. It's that he hits more against him more often. There IS something major between that 1 and 20 DX.

BluBBen September 2 2007 4:17 PM EDT

According to the battle log, my SF does have 20 DX and ST.

Yukk September 2 2007 9:59 PM EDT

GW, is your junction at 1.0 ? If not then penalties would accrue on your familiar.

QBOddBird September 2 2007 10:04 PM EDT

*grins* So instead of 'boost familiar's DX', this should've been 'Why does my familiar appear to have less than 20 DX?' as a thread title. ^_^

BootyGod September 3 2007 12:09 AM EDT

Yup. Sure should have.

Still a valid question though.

And there is no way I could be reducing DX to 1 from 20. But it's interesting. I'll see if changing it to non-junction minion helps.

BootyGod September 3 2007 12:16 AM EDT

Okay, wow.

The .06 junction IS reducing my DX. However, why is that? Nothing I have equipped reduces DX on my minion soo...

Any ideas?

Sacredpeanut September 3 2007 12:20 AM EDT

That sounds like a bug

QBsutekh137 September 3 2007 12:57 AM EDT

GW, on familiars, if you force a train of more than the base minion DX, then tanks (or the secondary tanks) will just train more Dex. It won't gain anything...just a mini-game.

Sacredpeanut September 3 2007 1:14 AM EDT

I think it could be an issue if you were using a DD familiar on an EC team.

I believe you can reduce someones DX to 1 through EC? If the familiar only has 1DX the opponents tank might well still get some DX based hits in whereas they probably won't get many DX based hits against a 20DX familiar.

AdminQBnovice [Cult of the Valaraukar] September 3 2007 1:51 AM EDT

junction does weird things when it's below proper level...

BootyGod September 3 2007 1:52 AM EDT

Perhaps Sut. I understand that.

But something about that 20 DX seems to make a big difference in battles.

Now I'm just curious why a low junction turns DX AND ST to 1.

QBsutekh137 September 3 2007 10:43 AM EDT

Yeah, that is weird, and I apologize for not reading the whole thread before posting last night... My comment isn't worth much. *smile*
