I am the one who got the cast removed on my hand...and my finger is still screwed up...so i need to get an MRI on tuesday as i can not bend it down into my hand halfway without immense pain...<.<

But hey, this must indeed hurt like hell! Did they anasthesize (sp?) you before? (Your tongue of course, not the whole you!)

As for why? Well it looks cool, and the ladies like it (;. As far as pain, not nearly as bad as you would think it would hurt to have a metal rod stuck through a major muscle in your body. They don't numb you or anything, but they make you rinse with Listerine mouthwash for 60 seconds first, that actually seemed more uncomfortable than the piercing itself.
