Forging Helm's Gauntlents (in General)

theskier [Star Trek] October 29 2007 6:58 PM EDT

I am in the process of forging up my Helms and I was wondering if anyone has played with the forging formula for these gloves????

It seems to me that the formula is not quite right to me... I am just over 200,000 mpr and I am not getting good increases per cycle while forging them.

Some items naturally have low forging efficiency. And 200k MPR is way too low to start forging without a NUB.

granted that some items might have a very low rate, but what I was asking was if someone might have played with the formula for the Helms to see if their is a better formula for it...

Plus I am just forging for myself... You might think that it is a little low, but if you could prove to me that waiting untill lets say 300 or 400k mpr will make that much difference, then I might wait a little bit longer to forge them up more... I am just trying to make so I last a bit longer against mages in the first few rounds.

I heard somewhere if you double your MPR forging efficiency goes up by 40%.

I though 4x mpr was 2x forge efficiency...or maybe thats 4x str is 2x damage XD

just prior to the BA regen change I established the following:

(copied from a previous forum post)
For a couple of examples:
a 1mil MPR char is a 48% better forger than a 100k MPR char
a 2mil MPR char is only 12.4% better than a 1mil MPR char
a 2mil char is in fact only 26.4% better than 500k MPR

(this was in reference to NW generated per BA)

While the numbers may have changed a little I have no reason to believe that the overall trend is different.

also what NW increase are you forging atm?

If you're forging 1 mil NW now, then it's only natural that it doesn't go up lots in rpm... ;)

theskier [Star Trek] October 30 2007 6:41 AM EDT

to anwser shade, the helms are at +9 272k networth... I would not expect that to have a rpm increase of about 5 points per round... that is why I WAS ASKING IF ANYONE HAS PLAYED WITH THE FORMULA TO SEE IF THEY HAVE FOUND A BETTER SWEET SPOT FOR FORGING THEM!!! Which no one has anwsered as of yet.

Shade... this is the change after 1 cycle using the formula in the help.

Rough progress meter: 2.555%

Rough progress meter: 5.344%

I would have expected the results to be at least double or triple for forging the Helm's for my mpr. I just got done doing a combat GI.. and I was still getting an increase of over 20 points and that has a current nw of over 500k

Brakke Bres [Ow man] October 30 2007 7:18 AM EDT

Nope the current formula in wiki is the best by far.

PR / MPR: 1,098,313 / 778,290

I have been forging my from +9 and it is low for me.

So 5 looks great from here.

Looks like I have to get my mpr up also.

The GI's are alot easier up to around 48.

I may have misunderstood you.
Are you Saying like 5 points for the 160 BA
If that is what you are saying we in the same boat.
Seems slow.

theskier [Star Trek] October 30 2007 8:21 PM EDT

Thantos... that was just for one cycle through the forge... not for the entire 160...

ok... so henk thinks that the wiki formula is the best... so I will go from there... thanks

you could choose to tweak it and show us your findings... but i doubt wiki is wrong :)
