i head out for navy basic training tomorrow morning, so just givin a goodbye to all you cbers

Have fun at Great Lakes! You've managed probably the nicest time of year to hit basic, though you'll probably spend most of your time indoors and won't be able to properly appreciate the weather.

When one of my high school friends went to Army basic training, his father, a Major in the reserves, told us to write letters of encouragement with derogatory remarks about the DI written on the outside of the envelope. Supposedly that was a surefire way to give his son a bit of hell.
