BA Cost too high? (in General)

Bartman November 10 2007 8:13 AM EST

I'm wondering if I'm paying too much buy BA. My current price to purchase BA is $2,234 per BA.

Looking at the BA costs for other players shows that my cost is significantly higher. Anyone have any idea why that may be?

No, mine's 1666 at just over 400k MPR. That's the NCB for you.....:/

This has been quite a concern for a lot of players. So much so Jon made a poll about the cost of NCB BA.

I doubt, however, anything will be done until the next changemonth :(

lets get real, the BA cost now makes it challenging to get to the top, lower it any and everyone will be at the top...

QBRanger November 10 2007 8:28 AM EST

I disagree.

It makes it only possible for someone spending USD to have a chance to make it to the top.

Which is unfair. I believe the costs should be normal so that anyone can have a chance to make it to the top ranks. And those not using USD still have money left over to adequately compete.

So? Staying there looks like it's quite difficult if you do not have the dedication of let's say...Ranger. You might get there, but are you gonna burn 100% of your BA everyday for as long as he has? I doubt many will.

Even if the BA costs is normal, you won't be about to make it to the top just based on MPR. You still need the nw as well. And your MPR will not be even near the highest MPR at the end of the NCB.

I agree a little lower cost of the ba would help more people get to the top easier than just USD spenders.

I'd love to see more competition.

"lower it any and everyone will be at the top"

This is a bad thing? When was th last time the top 10-15 list changed? Sure, occasionally someone manages to hike their score up to temporarily take one of the top spots, but for the most part, everybody there has had a pretty steady spot for a pretty long time...

I eventually plan to make my run for the top 5-10. But I fear it will be boring when I get there, and can only kill my current list with no hope of any kind of change until someone else gets gutsy and blows northwards of 40m on a NCB... If BA would get lowered, sure everyone would have massive amounts of MPR, but then slight tweaks in strategy along with net worth will actually decide who's winning and losing at the time. the "top" will still be difficult, as there will be many contenders and a lot of strategy involved. Meaning the game is actually playable at upper levels instead of just biding your time...

Bartman, it looks like %Bonus for each NCB affects BA cost. Time until NCB finished may also have an impact. That may be why your BA cost appears higher than other NCB's near your MPR.

It also looks like NCB BA is approx. 3X more expensive than a similar non-NCB character's BA.

Kultur - A persons NCB % = the % extra they pay for BA compared to what they would be paying without the NCB.

FailBoat[SG] [Forever Alone] November 10 2007 5:11 PM EST

My cost per BA is 1513 with a 211% NCB and two months left. And... its only going up.

horseguy001 [Blender 2021] November 10 2007 5:47 PM EST

2136, 212% and 3 months left =(

Unappreciated Misnomer November 10 2007 5:59 PM EST

huh i pay <1k per ba and i just started my ncb

"Kultur - A persons NCB % = the % extra they pay for BA compared to what they would be paying without the NCB."

Not quite. There is some other factor, not sure what it is...

smallpau1 - Go Blues [Lower My Fees] November 10 2007 8:49 PM EST

when i had my NCB, i only bought in EXP times and i got pretty high, so if i was able to buy BA everyday which is what lower costs would help do, i wouldve easily been at the top.

Mem November 10 2007 10:42 PM EST

Come complain to me when your BA costs more than my 2,967. This is garbage. Ridiculous garbage. I'm losing at least 500k a day buying my BA. I've already spent a good 40 mil on BA, and I'm in debt 6 mil which I'm spending on my BA. Something has to be done! (And it'd be nice if it's retroactive...)
