It'd be alot more convenient if there was a seperate blacksmith for tournaments. For normal chars tourny chars wouldn't clog it up. Also if someone were to order alot from the blacksmith right before a tourny, it'd make it harder for them to get their items. Since tournaments are on a time limit it could possibly make it harder for them if the blacksmith is backed up.
Just a suggestion.

How about for tournament characters, upgrades are instanteous like the x on weapons or ammo?

I can't think of any way to abuse it, personally...
And since tournaments are so fast paced, I think Ranger's idea would be best. Wasn't it instantaneous in CB1? Or at least instantaneous at some point in CB1?
