NCB question (in General)

If i start NCB char and do not retire my main(i cannot because of rentals),will i gain 10BA's/20min or i will get the rate of my other main char? Also is it the buying cost be as the NCB should look or i will use the rate of my main(I know that few weeks after i start the NCB the BA costs will be more than my other char but i am asking if for those 2 weeks i ll buy cheaper BA's or not).

you will pay the higher cost for BA always, and within 24 hours, my BA cost for my NCB was more than the BA cost for my nearly 1.2m MPR char. You will refresh at the rate of your larger char for a while, not sure how long, but I'm still refreshing 8 BA every 20 minutes, and getting rewards like a 10/20 char. I, personally, wasn't too worried about it with mine, as im just biding my time until the forge market reopens for me, and saving money in preparation for my run for the top 10... But If you are serious about getting as far as possible with your NCB, you should wait until you are able to retire or sell your larger char.

Ok thanks for that answer.I remember that some time ago you were able to save 1600 BA before starting a NCB.Is this possible now or not?

Hatchet, are you sure you're only getting 10/20 rewards on a 8/20 refresh? That's just not fair...

The max BA you can ever store is 1600.

We need to prove the bug with rewards so we can get a fix, I guess I'll have to start a throw away NCB...

the way hatch describes it is exactly how i remember it. i did not get rid of my older character and only retired it while i was on the ncb.

If you pool up 1600 BA, and create your own NCB, you'll be reset back to 160. In order to start with 1600 BA, you need to buy a freshly made NCB char from another player...

TheHatchetman December 7 2007 12:50 PM EST

Perhaps not, anymore... I just checked the Manage Characters page, and realized that the warning, saying your BA will be reset to 160 if its above, is gone... If anyone that buys their BA wouldn't mind going to 161 and creating a new char (doesn't have to be NCB), and seeing if they lose the BA or not, would solve this

Jon can you answer a question for me? If you start an Ncb, and you don't retire.. say a 6/20 refresh char... would you get rewards based off of 6/20 refresh for the NCB or normal 10/20 rewards even though you get 6/20 refresh rate from the unretired char?

<Jonathan> rewards are only based on the active char

So hearing this I would assume that even with a 10/20 char getting 6/20 refresh you only get 10/20 based rewards... so if you had a new ncb char getting 6/20 refresh or something similar other than the 10/20 it would normally have... the rewards would be based off of the normal 10/20 rate, so you would lose out on 4 ba per 20 minutes...

Ouch....

Hatch, for definite you can store up to 1600 BA and then create/start a new NCB char without losing the BA.

At least I could 5wks or so ago when I started mine anyway.
