How does the voting process work anyways? By that it seems that EB has more total votes than MH.

something like Every vote in the BMVG gives one total vote for an item... and every two votes in the black market for a certain item gives 1 point... points are added up at the beginning of the next bmvg.

I'd like to suggest that when looking at the votes already in the Black Market and determining what to vote for next, you go with the one that has the better percentage, not the one with the most votes. Choosing a 150-vote Morg because it has one more vote than a 88-vote EB seems to be an inefficient decision.

Maybe the BMV is going in a terrible direction and people are starting to accept bribes... We need a full scale investigation in my opinion and should just put all of our efforts into Ax/Ex bows till the case is solved :P.

It happens on occasion - insurrection. But it messes with those of us who do follow the rules because our votes end up getting wasted which slows down the spawning of items rather than making things better.

I think there's an issue with the way it's counted, though.

Considering that EBs had more BM votes at the start of this thread, and only lost in the 'official' vote by 1, it seems somewhat skewed to vote for the other item.

I think that a BM vote should count for 1 entire thread vote in order to resolve this.

So if somebody votes in the BM and votes here they get 2 votes? Seems like loading the dice to me.

What if we count the votes in the actual blackmarket like this:

Items requiring 150 and 173 votes will count as ratio as 5 blackmarket votes to 1 BMVG vote.

Items requiring 113 votes will count as a ratio of 4 blackmarket votes to 1 BMVG vote.

All other items count as a ratio of 3 blackmarket votes to 1 BMVG vote.

That should balance things a little right?

Because as I said above that means that some people will get TWO votes towards an item while others get only one. I think the simplification of what we have now is best it gives a lesser weight to the BM votes to mitigate the issues with double votes.

Of course you can vote for whatever you want to vote for... but it seems to me that it makes far more sense to vote for one thing at a time so that what you're voting for actually spawns and your vote's not wasted.

I think we should get the MH spawned, then finish off the Corn, since it has about half it's votes needed.

After we get the MH and Corn spawned, then we should go back to the regularly scheduled programming... A new BMVG thread will be made for the Corn after the MH is spawned, then people can cast there votes in the new Corn thread...

Who actually wanted the MH? From what it looks like, it was just 8 random votes that made you select it for the BMVG. Why does it make sense to let 8 random votes put us on a course for a 150-vote item that 8 people at the most want? If you want to know why people are not following the guide, think about what you are asking them to do. Pick items that people want and that have a reasonable cost, and people will follow it.

Instead of just taking the item with the most votes at the time, why not ask people what they want spawned.

I personally voted for the corn as that is more useful to more people.

Who needs another MH when plenty can be found in auctions?

If we go by your method of counting BMVG votes as well as BM votes, I can go vote for a HxBow twice in the BM and then come back to this thread, vote for it, and bam! I just created two points for HxBow.


Just count BMVG votes. That way everyone gets -ONE-.

petty squabbles and power struggles within the black market will likely just make people like myself just say to hell with it and not even vote.

i think a more adult and mature way of handling things would be that if you disagree with the way things are being done, make a post and come up with a better way of doing it. whilst this is taking place let's go ahead and support the current system and not waste over a hundred votes! doing that will just anger many who really don't need more items anyways and are just voting to help others out.

what has been happening the last few weeks is just silly and counter-productive.

I didn't make the rule of counting blackmarket votes, I think it'd be better to just count the votes in the BMVG.

i guess it could be said that counting the bm votes at all only encourages rogue voters and does nothing to reward the loyal bmvg regulars. i would tend to agree with you then in that those votes shouldn't be counted at all.
