What's better for NW addition, forging or blacksmith ? (in General)

This might sound like a stupid question at first sight, but my fight list is composed almost entirely of 100% challenge bonus enemies, and I am usually fighting with around 10% clan bonus too (on top of a 215% NUB).

So, I am wondering, if my ONLY concern is NW increase on "wall armor" pieces, what would be best in my situation, dump the money into the blacksmith (extra benefit, I also gain XP in the process), or forge those items myself ?
Or is that "dependant on item" ?

As a NUB player, I'd recommend a third option: hiring another player to forge them at 65 or 70% rate for you; during the time they are forging, you use the rental system to temporarily replace the items that they are forging.

Don't forget them yourself. Don't waste your NUB bonus on forging.

Well, they did recently reduce the cash reward per battle for NUBs (see changelog).

As for the forger hiring, that's no big issue, the armor is for my second character (a 2-minion team, AMF enchanter with endurance tat + max AC tank) which I only plan to play later on, when my NUB expires (retire then create with NCB, maybe retire main char, a MWEE team), so no need to use rentals for it, it's just a "placeholder" for now.

fight fight fight!

You get no bonus to forging, you get a large (yes not quite as large as it once was, but still) bonus to fighting. You'll add more NW fighting.

As a helper of the forge dwarf even I must admit this:

When you have the NUB, don't forge. :)

Fight first. Forge after nub. Do you really want to be stuck with a character wth less than optimal MPR? Imagine your forge efficiency then. There are other ways to make money while you are fighting.

Actually, I forgot that you still get the forging bonus! That might make things a little different..

Look up other nub forgers and see how much they earn. Or forge for a day and gauge your speed yourself.

Now, count up all the money you will make forging through your nub. You will essentially give up your chance to have full ncb bonus + free BA. You should be able to hit 1.8mil mpr if you fight throughout your nub so use that as a yardstick.

Now if you can make enough money forging to finance your ncb ba purchase (40mil if i'm not mistaken?) and nw requirement, or equivalently if you can manage to buy a large character around 2mil mpr (this is hardly ever on sale, look at spawn's character sale to get a roughly idea of price, even that's a bit low compare to what you can achieve with nub). Remember to deduct from that the amount you could have earned from fighting.

You should be able to make a decision whether or not to forge then. From what I saw, nub forgers were making 1mil nw gain a day. IF you mange to attract enough business to convert that into cash (forging at below market price), I have little doubt that you'll be swimming in money.
