Anyone have the Wii Zapper?(or other Wii shooters) (in Off-topic)

AdminShade December 22 2007 12:06 PM EST

Just want to hear some more opinions about it.

Also I'd like to hear some things about other Wii shooter games:

Medal of Honor: Vanguard
Red Steel
Prince of Persia: Rival Swords (not really a shooter but still fun I think)

Claire and I have bought ourselves a Wii for Xmas. ;) Claire's parents have been keeping it for us, so we don't get our grubby mits on it till Xmas day!

:/

Ahh goodie, which games do they have with it? Mario Galaxy is really recommended!

Where did you manage to get hold of one GL? I've not been able to find one anywhere! Sold out, sold out, sold out!

Ditto JW. They're sold out within 30 minutes of arriving at any store around here...

We were trying for months, and were basically told "Your best bet to is cal everywhere and turn up when someone gets a delviery".

We went to Lakeside the Friday after a trip to Claires folks tog et some stuff. For a lauch we decided to try the Game store there. Fridays is delivery day (we found out) and they just had two in stock.

Bought! :D

We've got Rayman Ravid Rabbids, Ratattoui and Carnival Games with it (and Wii sports. Rayman is great fun, and Claire wanted the other two).

And due to a totall lack of Poker face, I know a Mate has got me Mario/Sonic Olympics for an Xmas pressent. ;)

He was considering selling his Wii on Ebay (they were going for over twice retail) and buying one again in the new year. ;)

Another Mates sisters fiancee (or is it fiance?) was walking round a local Tesco when they annoucned they had just got a deliver of Wii's in. He ran across the store to get one. ;) Becasue they didn't have the games that are part of the package in stock, they let him have any other game for free with it. I think he chose Medal of Honour. ;)

According to every review I've read, Red Steel is one of the worst games on the Wii. I wouldn't waste my money on it.

JW, it's a bit late to be of use to you now but 2 of my colleagues bought their Wii from Amazon. They've been sold out in the UK for ages even on Amazon as you know, but where there's a will, there's a way. Or should I say, "where there's the risk of a disappointed child, there's a Wii." :)
One of my colleagues bought his from Amazon Germany and had it delivered to the UK (2 day turnaround), the other wasn't so lucky as Amazon closed the loophole and stopped shipping into the UK and he had to purchase from Amazon France, having it delivered to a colleague who lives there. It cost him an extra 15GBP or so to get it delivered over to the UK.

Red Steel is nice if you like wasting 5000 bullets to kill one dude because the aim is so freaking bad.

That is, in multiplayer, it can become heaps of fun to just stand next to your friend shooting everywhere but on him/her, while he/she does the same, yelling and screaming at each other.

I'll be waiting in the morning when the doors open at a store near me.
If not, well I'll get mine in January sometime.

I would like to see Duck Hunt 2!!

AdminShade December 23 2007 4:31 PM EST

I now have Medal of Honor Vanguard and Prince of Persia Rival Swords.

MoH is a very fun game, and quite hard in the beginning.
Haven't checked out PoP yet..

And of course (sorry for double posting now btw) I also got Links Crossbow Training.

The Wii Zapper is wonderful, I'd give it an 8.5 out of 10 for value!

Red Steel is one of the greatest games I've played. It takes a little while to get used to but once you hone in on the shooting style, you can take you friends out with ease. For those of you that are unable to shoot with the Wiimote... well I just feel sorry for you. It takes me about 3-4 shots to kill someone using the basic pistol... usually only 1. Automatic weapons in the game are a waste of time, especially the Uzi. I can't speak for the single player, but I play multiplayer with my friends all of the time.
