Quick strat question (in General)

I was reading a few threads and was starting to notice something. If I am going to stay single minion am I going to have to get a melee weapon to compete against some of these evasions? If so, which one will go well with my mageseeker and give me a chance to beat a few of these big boy evasion teams up here? Thanks for any advice. If I'm needing a melee weapon I might as well know now so I can start to buy one. LOL

Your most logical choice in my opinion: Vorpal Blade

I would go with the Vorpal Blade to kill big AC and Evasion/DB effect.

single minion... i suggest MH... since your single TOA your damage is considerable... so the life leech effect would be pretty much effective... vorpal i would normally recommend for multiple minions but is a useful option

Those 4 people I added to my fight list with that melee weapon. With the melee weapon off I get the result in the < >. Just to show what that does. Now the question is if I added 46 mil to my bow, which is more than the NW on it now, would I beat these people anyway. I'm leaning toward yes, but I just don't know. More thoughts to come, and thanks Draco for loaning me the weapon.

I don't know man, I would really go with the Bow still, even after the results.

Get a melee weapon and slowly upgrade it. Eventually, your weapons allowance will more more than enough to account for 2 huge weapons.

from what i see... normally your killed by xanas GA... so the MH is helping you by life leech... i believe the same thing happens for flamey as your bow blows through his evasion wall... it helps you not statemate hawkhar by letting you be able to destroy his evasion wall... but probably the same amount of NW in your bow will let you do the same thing... same thing for rigwarl

flamey -> evasion + GA
hawkhar -> evasion
rigwarl -> evasion

evasion problem probably would be solved with the added + into your bow

GA problem is what MH helps alot in... either that or upping your dispel

lostling, SoxJr has a huge DM and his damage will eventually completely overwhelm any GA out there if he remains single minion. I don't think he needs to worry about GA in the long term.

I thought the ELS was much cheaper to forge? But I don't know about the + and x prices. So I will assume that is what is referred to here.

GA problem is what MH helps alot in... either that or upping your dispel :)

VB has cheaper +... but seeing as I'm going with heavy AC/endurance... you shouldn't use one ;)

Talion, I don't think he's worrying about WA so much as budget... He's not going to be able to afford a 100m nw bow and an equal sized melee weapon anytime soon... And even then, would a 200m nw bow outdo the effects of bow+melee? :P

Reguardless, if you decide to go with a melee weapon, MH and VB are really the only ones to be considered... Bth somewhat, but the extra damage of the MH will by far outweigh the 1-handedness... BoNE and ELS are laughable... You're an archer, your massive damage comes from your bow, weapon is just for cleanup... If you're worried about dealing damage, and don't feel you need the VA of the MH/Bth, then VB is the logical choice, as the only thing MH wouldn't be doing enough damage against is heavy AC...

and don't let the fact that not many near the top use heavy AC currently fool you. Most of them have a nifty little set stashed away ^_^

Just a quick response, you'd beat me regardless of where you put the money. My evasion is ~85. My strat doesn't work effectively, it would work effectively if I had my RoS equipped, where I'd make 900k DM useless.

Go for a BoTH, you want to hit them, it has higher CTH than MH. Leech is the way to go. I'm pretty sure if you can hit them you'll win.

I just added a rented Morg to my team, and added several people to my list who have evasion. Because, thanks to the evasion bonuses in ranged, I can't hit them in ranged, but if the PTH on the melee weapon is big enough I can get them then. And the free VA can't be beat. It's free XP remember, invisible MPR, so with a Morg you're effectively bigger than you really are. And if the weapon comes in under your WA you're not getting penalized for that extra MPR....

ok. problem is. I will never get to my WA. I added the 40 some million nw weapon to kill a few and my pr barely moved. So I could double my bow and be fine, it's that I don't make enough cb to do that, and I don't add usd.

I do have a feeling the added + to my bow will do just as much as if I added a melee weapon, but I will have to test that again as I do add more to my bow. I might buy a small melee morg and keep it and slowly work on it a little so as to test later, but I think keeping going on my bow is the smartest thing to do. Thanks for all the great responses though.
