Tattoo rental business... where to post? (in General)

Would it be ok to post threads like this one in the Services forum?

This is an interesting service for veterans and new users alike. I would definitely start one of my own, but not if I have to post the offer in FS/WTB.

I think it makes more sense to post this in the Services forums.

I would have to agree, and not just cause it's my post. But in reality, I'm NOT looking to sell my tats, just offering to LOAN them out to let people (and yes, especially new people) try different tattoos. And a loan definitely qualifies as belonging under "services".

I may be opening up my mouth just to stick my foot in it but has it ever been discussed to add tats / runes to the rental board? If you disabled the exp growth of the tat/rune then it wouldn't benefit the loaner other than the extra cash.....

Lets please keep this thread about the *free* tattoo rental business though.

I vote Services, since it is free.

Then again, at the same time, you are potentially gaining something if it is/ends up under their Max Tattoo. That causes me to lean towards FS/WTB.

because my tato may level it should go in fs/wtb? forgers make money off their services. SERVICES. With all due respect to everyones feelings on this one, I'm not selling anything.

Well, on issues like this we'd always like to hear from the Maker. To me that would be the end all be all and thats that. However I recognize the admins as "the long arms of the Maker" so this is all I ask. Let as many admins chime in on this, be the supreme court of CB if you will. Can we get a majority ruling?
I would like to make a thread in SERVICES offering the use of my tattoos (I have some regular and some lesser) to anyone who would like to try them FOR FREE. Obviously this is aimed at giving new players a chance to discover how certain tattoos actually work before investing in them. That really is my main reason for doing this. I was helped out quite a bit as a new player and now being fairly self sufficient would like to pass on the favor. Yes, my tattoos may get leveled. That is not why I'm doing this. I honestly couldn't be less concerned if one of my lesser tattoos gets leveled. Let me stress I'm not even looking to recoup transfer fees. Though if they get high enough to hurt my wallet I may have to withdraw the service as I WILL NOT charge for this. Thanks for your attention and everyones comments are welcome and looked forward to.

Well it's only recently that the prices of loaning a Tattoo have become affordable again. I'd hate to see them jet back up to the way they used to be. Jon jacked it up because he didn't want people loaning/renting out Tattoo's.

I believe tattoos should be in the rentals. However. To stop abuse, any tattoo's placed in rentals will not gain any levels. The person who places thme in rentals gets money for renting them out, like any other item. The person borrowing the tattoo gets to try out a nice level tattoo without spending 400k to ink his into another one, to then spend 400k inking it back...

Allow tattoos in rentals, they need to be there - just disable their ability to gain levels during the rental period!

Which is why I'd like most to hear Jon's yea or nay on this. I don't even expect him to explain his reasoning, his decision would be enough for me.

And if that's the way it turns out to be that's fine with me also, I'll throw some tattoos into rentals and make some money, but until that happens let's focus on what this thread is about, loaning tattoos for FREE.

We had a great discussion about this in chat earlier, different views presented in a friendly open manner. But if there is going to be a big community backlash I would just as soon let it die. No loss to me, I already have a tattoo that is getting closer to my MTL and it's not getting loaned out. I'll say it yet again, I'm only looking to help.

I think Rented Tattoos should be allowed back in the game, because there is really no possible way to grow your tattoo to compete with the big dogs, because they will always outpace you.

You do realize the top dogs can also rent out their tatts to... say... nubs? And their tatts will be more attractive in rental than yours because... they are bigger? Just want to point out the circular logic here :).

I'd like to see a NUB with a 4m+ max tat... :P

But the NUB would, 99% of the time, rent the biggest tat there. All the owners of the biggest tats would make all of the money.

Rentals/NW/PR relation *needs* to be explained in the tutorial.

This of course is entirely possible but, if someone is going to put a significantly LARGE tattoo into rentals, there's a good chance (like most other items in there) it's going to be more expensive to rent. If tat's do get put into rent there should probably be a disclaimer for newb's that even the biggest tattoo only acts as big as their MTL. I don't see this as being much of a worry to anyone. But I'm not itching to get my tattoos into rentals so I could be wrong.
