Anti-RoBF Strategy (in General)

Armageddon February 4 2008 11:14 PM EST

Put them up here. Those of you who hate the RoBF, should have come up with a way to beat it, but you're just too lazy to do it. Now is your chance to put up your RoBF Ownage guides for others to make for you. Sharing is caring and it can be fun.

CoC Mage
(HP when you want)
1/3 Evasion or AMF
2/3 CoC
-HUGE Displacement Boots/ or Elven Boots
-Cloak of Istari
-Noldorin Spellcasters
-Helm of Clearsight/ or Cornuthaum
-Elven Hauberk

NS helps to negate the RoBF user's AMF because it would most likely be diluted. Also, AMF has to be double the DD spell to totally negate it. Most RoBF users also plan on their RoBF to negate DD spells anyway, so their AMF will not be that high.

The CoI and HoC will give you an extra round before the RoBF can deal any damage. CoC also is the highest damage dealing DD spell.

EH helps you own other mage teams too... A LOT MORE. Especially if you train AMF.

The Higher the CoC spell, the less damage you will take from AMF. Ownage with NS.

Go ahead and tweak it as you wish. This is my strategy.

Will going RoBF farming really be practical?

maybe for new characters it will

But Armageddon, it seems to me that people dislike RoBF because they find themselves being farmed by people much much smaller characters, and there is no amount of tweaking their characters can do to prevent it. Unless the go through a total retrain of their strat. This goes for many strats, though not all obviously.

They don't want to beat RoBF they just don't want to loose to them.

I mean the main thing i don't like about RoBF is that the vast majority of skills and enchantments are useless. Take for example, GA, AMF, evasion. Even str, dex are useless because it doesn't matter how much MPR you have if you don't have the PTH to back it up.

Anyone can beat RoBF they just choose not to throw away the last few months to do so.

I am, for one, convinced that single CoC fails. You won't have the evasion needed to last long enough into melee to dish out the damage. Not using a tattoo is plain silly. There are two phases to a character's life: 1) using RoE, 2) growing tatt. Not having a tatt is not an option.

There are better CoC setups that eats RoBF teams for breakfast.
