Who would use basketball flooring for a home theater? You need carpet to stop the reflection of the sound.

Don't know if he mentions the decision between carpet and hardwood.
Some people's opinions said that carpet can suck the life out of the sound and hardwood can be a better choice if the system compensates for the reflection.

Actually, I think it looks a tad ugly. I know that sound quality is important, but I find the room's aesthetics to be completely wrong.
