BA Purchase Price? (in General)

Can someone explain to me how the BA purchase price works again?
I recently started a new character and was on a BA purchase price of about $1,100 per. In 2.5 weeks I've gone up to $1,501 per while still on the same old 8/10 refresh rate that my old character had.
Wiki says, "With a New Character Bonus (NCB) the cost of BA is extremely high."
But what determines this cost? It seems to me that I STARTED at what my old price was and have been building on that price.

It's because your old char is still 'active'. Retire it and you should see the price drop.
It's based on cash rewards, if I recall correctly.
NCB also has the amount of their bonus multiplied into the formula.

It is based off your highest mpr char you have. So if you didn't retire your char when you started your NCB. Then you are paying for ba price based on that old char.

Maybe I need to wait for a cache flush, but I just retired my old character and no change in the price.
No, your BA cost is accurate. If your BA cost went up since you started your NCB, that's because your NCB's BA cost is higher than your other character's.

Dang... That's a steep price to pay, starting at where my old one was and then building by $400+ in 2.5 weeks.

His ba cost will go down at the cache flush tonight. he retired a 1.3 mil mpr char and his NCB char is much much lower than that. his ba price will drop dramatically. You wait and see. :) enjoy the lower cost starting after cache flush.

I was just trying to bring to attention the last 5 posts or so...
------------------
''NightStrike, Nov 27 2007 [collapse]
"It's not easy to get on every 5 hours." This is why it's generally not the best idea to make your NCB your highest character once you get a good fightlist going. When you do not have a good fightlist, however, and your offensive losses are elevated, you want as much BA as possible. There is a balance.

"What does it do to your "Get more BA" purchase price?"
You pay the higher price. But again, since cash rewards are equally skewed, your net profit at the end of the week is the same (well, I suppose not during an NCB period, since BA cost is insane and cash rewards are not boosted... but if you had a non-NCB low-MPR char, then it would indeed even out)''
------------------
Damn... You've already retired your bigger character. I want to compare 9/20 NCB cash rewards to 8/20 Non-NCB cash rewards to actually see how large the rewards are adjusted between regen rates.
I should have done it with my NCB before I retired, but I just didn't think of it I guess.

Ironically, I can now purchase much more BA at 9/10 (324) but at the same inflated price of $1,501.
I'll try and pay attention to my rewards but I'd imagine they are commensurately lower as I'll be getting more BA.

I'd just like to add that the thread NS was talking about in the thread I started is
right here.

Your rewards are based on the refresh rate of the char you're using, even though you may have a slower refresh rate due to using a larger active char...
Good news is that your rewards should stay the same, and you should be getting more BA now ^_^

It does look like my rewards stayed the same, so with the higher BA I should end up better able to afford that higher BA cost.

It's entirely possible, btw, that I am completely wrong in what I said in that thread......

i'm in the last few days of my NCB, and the BA cost is 2752/BA at 7/20.
Wow, I don't think mine ever got that expensive. But it has been 8 months

btw, my NCB Bonus is 213 percent, maybe, that counts in the calculation of the BA cost.

$2,822 and rising :( 214% bonus.
I expect horsguy was even higher...
Mine was over 3600/BA at the end, it was costing over 700k just for a days worth of BA.
