Valentine for a friend or loved one.

Love and friendship are two sides of the same coin, but they mean different things to different people. Doesn't that mean that when you're someone's friend, that maybe they don't think of you as a friend? Or that someone you love maybe doesn't love you back?

And what of this coin I spoke of. How much is it really worth? A penny? A nickle, dime, or quarter? How much is love and friendship worth to you? How much would you pay for it? Are you a slave to it? Would you notice if you were? Are you addicted to it, like a drug?

The thing is, love and friendship are intangible emotions. Not like anger or sadness, which have environmental triggers. They're different. They're made up of pheromones. A multitude of chemicals and other ingredients that would probably turn your stomach if you actually knew what went into them.

So, do we really choose who we love? Is love even real at all? And how is it that we truly make friends? Good friends. Friends that we'd die for. How is it that the worth of, and your very thoughts of, these things can be decided so coldly by these primal, beastial mixtures of scents and body odor?

I ... really don't know where I was going with this ... but I hope you and yours have a wonderful Valentine's day. Eat some sweets, snuggle up with someone you love (or like), and just remember that the only people out there who truly aren't loved today... are the ones who are blind to what true love really is.

Roses are red and no matter the gender,
there's lives to be lost in the Carnage of Blender.

To quote a kid from back in highschool:

Roses only last a couple weeks, and that's if you leave them in water. They only really exist to be pretty. That's like saying "my love for you is transitory and based solely on your appearance." But a potato! Potatoes last forever. In fact, not only will they not rot, they'll grow stuff even if you leave them in the sack. But wait, there's more! There are so many ways to enjoy a potato! You can even make a battery with it! That's like saying "I love you in so many different ways." Potatoes may not be the best-looking items, but they're still awesome. So that's like saying "It won't matter what you'll look like, I'll still love you."
