With an Evasion nerf, we'll need a UC buff... the only thing making UC even remotely usable atm (aside from the ability to put all of your WA into a ranged weapon, which ends up meaning nothing eventually unless you are NS or Freed...) is the inherrent Evasion it holds.

Nerfing Evasion = most likely necessary
Nerfing UC = completely unnecessary...

UC probably just needs a whole reworking...poor skill has been left in the dust. It probably suffers the fate of the single minion team, a lack of love by the creator.

i think we might also need some type of usd cap as well. evasion was and is an equalizer for usd influence in cb2, so if evasion is nerfed, we need to nerf usd as well or cap it so that ya can spend as much as ya want, but it will only help so much. oh, and it really needs to be more restrictive than the mtl we have now.

Now evasion has gone far far beyond the USD equalizer.

With BG's fixed, I do less then 1M a hit to low AC minions. With some people having over 4M hp a minion (novice), ranged is not the end of the game.

But forget about those 5 or 6 USD spenders. What about those like Soxjr who do not spend USD. Should he be prohibited from playing a tank due to evasion?

The way evasion is not, any non-USD spender cannot realistically play a tank to the upper levels.

Certainly they can for the lower level, since they can pick and choose to find non-evasion minions to beat.

However, once they hit the "dead zone", they are at quite the disadvantage vs evasion characters.

Do you not see the problem with this? Trying to fix a discrepancy about USD spenders is ruining the game for all the non-USD spenders.

Unfortunately, or fortunately USD is a part of CB now. However, there are only a few people with large investments of cash. To make changes based up those few people is very detrimental to the rest of the game.

Other, better solutions include a weapon cap, non-upgradeable ammo, and a revised weapon allowance.

Just ask tanks like Soxjr how it is to play a non-USD tank to the upper levels.

One of three things need happen to evasion.

1. Remove defensive dex in melee completely.
2. Lessen the effect in ranged rounds.
3. Any weapons with +100 on them will hit once per round based on normal factors (evasion cannot nullify attacks completely).

One more thing, RoBF _always_ hits, DD _always_ hits, why can't physical damage have an equivalent if the pth is high enough?

The Effectiveness of Evasion should have a certain relation to dexterity.

Glory. I would so love if that were true. I am currently at +150 and my ToA has me at the +180 something range and there are plenty our there I can't hit. Oh and that is with 2.4 mil DX also. But I have just gotten over fighting about it and waiting to see what happens. If nothing this month then I think my days as a tank will be over.

man i really hate hearing that! whenever i hear that statement it sounds to me an awful lot like "they bought the game, let em have it!"

if we can come up with some way to do both, ie. make it so that usd is not required, but it also doesn't give spenders free reign to own the game at any level, then i am all for balancing. if however your best solution is "ignore the aberrations" then what we have now is more balanced in my opinion.

also, the 5 or 6 usd spenders you refer to now, may become tens or hundreds of usd spenders if we get the growth that may come with facebook integration. at some point, with the lower cb2 to usd ratio now, we may even have some that put the current expenditures to shame, especially if we give the game over to people willing or able to spend cash.

And that is why I suggested a weapon cap, not allowance.

But if we keep evasion as it is, we will again have mage blender as the AOF makes things very skewed toward DD now.

ah, but your first post just mentioned evasion, not the weapon cap. i do see the other thread now though that has several good ideas and more of the aspects of balance that need to happen rather than just one.

i will move to the other thread now if i need to add anything else.
