Do you have 50% of your exp in dd? If not, there is no atrocity here. Just a very small fireball :)

three4thsforsaken March 5 2008 12:07 PM EST

first of all, RoBF seems to need more balancing, since it's completely pwning fireball

second of all, NOOOO!!..... Kano-san!

QBOddBird March 5 2008 12:08 PM EST

1. Yes, more than 50% of my EXP is in Fireball.
2. Notice, no AMF, no form of DD reduction aside from RoBF.

Ulord[NK] March 5 2008 12:16 PM EST

I have no problem toasting all the same RoBF characters I used to own and it's not taking any longer than usual. Notice the large MPR gap between OB and his target.

QBJohnnywas March 5 2008 12:19 PM EST

Yeah, the target is twice his size.

QBOddBird March 5 2008 12:19 PM EST

Agreed, there is a large MPR gap. I fail to see how this affects my point.

My FB can ordinarily hit in melee up to 70k, and in ranged well over 100k. This means that it is reducing 35k damage to 0. He has no other means of DD reduction. Someone at my own MPR or a lower MPR has the same amount of DD reduction, so MPR plays no part here.

Ulord[NK] March 5 2008 12:24 PM EST

Ob, his max tattoo is twice yours. If he has a maxed out tattoo, that's like having an amf effect of 50% since it reduces twice as much damage possible against you. However, I too think ROBF needs a bit more nerfy. Reduce the dd reduction to 60% of its previous level instead of 66%.

QBJohnnywas March 5 2008 12:24 PM EST

Lol, your evasion is doing similar to the tank on the opposition.

QBOddBird March 5 2008 12:34 PM EST

JW: My evasion is pathetic, that's the DBs.

Ulord: A battle that is won based on comparing tattoos? Boring. CB needs less of that. I agree, a nerf is in order.

QBJohnnywas March 5 2008 12:38 PM EST

Ah DBs. Now there's a question that raises: should an approx 130k MPR char be able to wear +202 DBs.....That pretty much makes you invincible to any tank char almost up to the top.

And no offence mate, but of the two things which is worse? I'd say the oversized boots personally rather than some tattoo blocking your DD.

QBOddBird March 5 2008 12:41 PM EST

I totally agree with you there, Johnny. :)

QBOddBird March 5 2008 12:42 PM EST

I suppose, then, that this can be an example of both the RoBF problem as well as the USD problem.

On a side note: I would have no issue with this if the RoBF didn't do damage, or if the DD reduction wasn't so powerful against the newly weakened ranged DD, but with both factors, all you really need is a RoBF to win a fight against a mage.

Brakke Bres [Ow man] March 5 2008 12:49 PM EST

not really any RoBF team will tell you that single fireball mages are a big threat.

QBOddBird March 5 2008 12:57 PM EST

I dunno about that recently - that was certainly true before, when ranged damage was not under this heavy reduction, but lately under this system I'm avoiding RoBF users like the plague.

Once I get past the point that I can break the %DD reduction barrier, I can finally attack RoBF users who don't train AMF....but the ones who train a small amount (just enough!) will still reduce my damage back into the 0 zone. Thank Jon for NSC!

Ulord[NK] March 5 2008 2:17 PM EST

I would not take the lower tier of the game where PR and score can be disproportionally different and people of different PR fights at the same range. Wait till you get to the stable zone then judge. Again, from personal experience, i have not taken off any RoBF opponents from my list. I run a dual fireball obliterator build starting with SFBM and I'm not feeling unbalance.

iBananco [Blue Army] March 5 2008 2:21 PM EST

RoBF hardly gained any ground at all after the change. Ranged damage was cut by 40%, while RoBF blockage was reduced by 34.

QBOddBird March 5 2008 2:31 PM EST

Peach - it's a problem that has been expressed for a while, pre-change.

Ulord - gotcha, I'll wait until I gain some more MPR and then create another thread. :P
