Who should CB hate! ''Temptation the game" Part 3! (in Contests)

Last time this game ran, it was in June 2007 so its that time again! :)

A very entertaining game thought up by Mythology, last edition $2010000 was sent around in this contest! And "won" by Opvines!

Now read the rules carefully below, with enough participants we shall start this of on Sunday the 16th of March :)

The RULES! Read below!

1) The game is : pass temptation.

2) Once you have 'passed temptation' you will never have to face it again.

3) When it is your turn to be tested you will be sent an amount of money with the note "I trust you". You then have 2 options :
Road of disloyalty : "The person who sent me this is an idiot to think I wouldn't keep the money, I hope everyone sees how stupid they are". Then keep the money.
Road of loyalty : "I'd kind of like to keep the money, but its only a few $s cost to pass this on, and I dont want to make the person who sent me it and trusted me look stupid, I'll pass on the money". Then post on this thread you are taking the road of loyalty, then move to step (4).

4) Send the money you recieved PLUS another $500 to someone on the game you KNOW is ACTIVE and you TRUST. If they already passed temptation then you cannot send to them. Basically think to yourself 'who do i trust not to keep the money, who wont let me down?'. Once you have chosen attach the note "I trust you" and dont forget to send $500 more than you recieved and passed. NOW - Post to the thread the transfer log of you sending it, well done. You have passed temptation, you have proven you friend right, lets hope you sent it to a decent person... Good luck.

5) Note if temptation is not passed within 48 hours of it being sent, it is assumed the road of disloyalty has been chosen, so make sure the person you're sending it to will be online with 48 hours and does not take too long over decisions.

Don't tempt me, bad evidence in my past of what happened when 20+ mil was left over, no one ever saw it in one piece again.

This game rocks! I have seen it twice now but have never been tempted. :-P Let's see what this round brings!

erm, people may think I'm not active because I don't talk in chat as much as I used to, but I assure you I sign on multiple times per day!

nope. lostling sent to LA.. then LA paid a portion of his loan.. then drudge sent the same amount to LA so he would have the chance to send it again.. and nothing so far... So basically LA got to keep the money 2 times.

Lost sent to LA, but LA sent it back to Lost - as part of a loan repayment but still sent back - then drudge sent another sum to LA. So there's two lots of that temptation money sitting there....

Oh, I didn't realize that the 17th to the 18th was 48 hours :P. Silly me~

Yes, he got and "kept" the money _twice_, though you might reserve some animosity for Lostling, who served himself quite well.

drudge gave LA 750k since LA, at the time of the xfer to lostling, did not have any money.

He did it as a nice gesture that LA just kept as well.

So LA has indeed disappointed the CB community 2 times, just like Bast predicted.

Although we could split 1 vote: 1/2 for Lostling and 1/2 for LA. As lostling was quite smart, like he pointed out.

Doesn't the saying go something like... "a fool and his money are soon parted"? Case in point. :)

Hey now, lostling has NEVER given ANY of you a reason to put blame on him. I've never seehn him be greedy or plotting in any way. LA broke the trust of CB by deliberately keeping that money. But lostling did nothing wrong when he sent him that money. He was simply treating him like a part of CB.

Like you did Ranger, when you lent him your tattoo.

Like many of you did in welcoming LA to the game. Be careful blaming lostling here. If someone drug dealer offers a 17 year old drugs, the parents can blame the drug dealer alllll they want. But it's still the teenagers fault they did it.

The temptation is too great for them. Yeah, Lostling was smart although he think he was. It is a shame for the game that it ended as it did.

It was going to end anyway, and last time's winner/loser wasn't shunned much by the community.

This shouldn't really affect his status in CB community, because it was just a contest/game.

I say we pose a norminal penalty to LA as a community. No trading with him for 24 hours or something maybe?

Goal of the game: To pass or keep a certain amount of cash.

Prize: Total amount of cash passed up to the point where you get to do either of the above.

Seems to me like duder here won the game, and the prize.

Excuse me for chiming in, but this was a contest after all. "Contest" - in which there are winners and losers. And in this case the "loser" walks away with the cash, and at that point the contest is over. End of competition.

Yet here I read post after post of the potential ostracizing of someone who didn't win. And it's sad, really. 61 comments arguing about what should be done, or what happened, or whatever is poor form. If you didn't like the potential outcome, you should have never participated. It makes no sense, the game was set up for exactly this outcome. Give the guy a break and move on.
