Lets try this again.. Strat help for Black Sophist (in General)

Okay so I feel my strat has hit a wall and I need some ideas.... I was chatting with my Clan m8 Nov about turning my AS minion into a PL battery.... and I was figuring on some expenditures for equipment and what I have and the penalties I will incur... so here is the idea....

I will change my 2.4 mil levels of AS for 1.9 mil HP and the rest into PL.... that makes for about 450k pl with this idea the equipment would either be Tsa + Elvens + MS = 187 AC + 45% to skills + -12.75 to amf Tsa + Elvens + Bom = 170 AC + 48% to skills + -9.75% to amf all that is at my current bonuses and some of it is stuff I have laying around except the Elvens...

With the above I would have 653k PL with an absorb of up to 1.175 mil hit.... I would also incur a penalty to my 1 mil level amf of -127k with my Tsa/Elvens/MS....

Now with the other equipment choice I would have 666k PL absorbing up to a 1.199 mil hit And I would incur a penalty to my 1 mil level amf of 97.5k with my Tsa/Elvens/Bom...

now to obtain all the elvens It would cost about 5 mil for base EB, with 2.5 mil put into it afterwords... EG is 1 mil base + 1.2 put on... and EC is 1 mil base with 1.2 put on. So another 12 mil on Elvens... but anyone like to chime in?

With a PL battery I can also change my tat with very little change to my overall strat.... Very good spread damage to my team against FB... especially the DM type FB teams... also allows for my Evasion minion, to if lucky, tank one hit and push Mikel into Melee with his +150 MH.... that might let me avoid him from there on.

With NWO, Hubbell, FTW, and King of Pain with DM wasting my exp in AS is a lose/lose for me. So a change to native hp would in turn earn me a round or two against these characters... With the way the SF+Aof works for Sut any more rounds will help me from losing 1% of the time which is about where it is now from his change. Also the same for NWO... another round or two with my Msk might just give me enough to beat him....

Input is greatly appreciated!!!!!!

Equipment option 2, and do you need that much PL? Seems like you'd be needing HP more than PL....after all, with a PL that size, you'll take a solid two hits at your PL's max....

Use a MgS on your AS minion. See how many fights you lose.

If not many, just 1 or 2, then the AS is not helping you. Looking at the battle reports you can extrapolate if HP/PL on that minion will help you.

Well I already know I do just fine without my AS.... I have already used a Mgs to check that... it also happens to drop my Amf 1.1 mil and yet it still doesn't change my list. But I'm hoping with the spread I can keep FTW and Hubbell from beating me for a long long time.

As for too much PL.... I know that may be a little overkill and may edit it down or up depending on how the battles go at 1.9 mil hp on that minion. I may just take the PL down a few notches but I am also still training Native hp on my evasion minion at this time to counter some of the damage he will be taking if I remove the AS.

Don't forget that with a PL that big compared to you HP, FB will nuke your PL minion really quickly since it's taking 4 hits and then you'll be one minion less for the damage spread.
This could cause you more issues with Hubbel & FTW.

Or you can make some of that xp from AS into more AMF.

You have to see what characters are giving you problem and see if your close to beating them. If so, what will make the difference.

Vs Sut and LA, no ED will help. So you have to consider more AMF or more HP, with or without PL.

Let's analyze who beats you (according to 24-hour summary):

Koyaanisqatsi
Double Trouble
NWO
King of Pain
Edyit

First off, not bad... You do realize that this "wall" you are hitting is the same wall some of us have been up against for more than a year now, yes? *smile* Additionally, your score is fourth right now... Not too bad for the 15th highest PR and 16th highest MPR, yes? I admire your tenacity, don't get me wrong, but sometimes the "wall" is actually something you are already on the other side of, and you are just tapped out with your current MPR and NW.

Koy -- well, Ranger is just hard to beat. Lots of MPR, and excellent NW expenditure. No advice there.

Double Trouble -- welcome to the pain of massive weapons. I have no idea how you could beat that with a balanced defense. To concentrate on that would leave you vulnerable elsewhere (again, I will note your not-even-top-ten PR and MPR).

NWO -- Well, he is a tough nut without DM, I knew that from the start. You switch to DM and you might gain him but lose Hubbell. Double team, supreme! That's rock/scissors/paper in action.

King of Pain -- He's huge! Massive and glorious! Especially after the third minion being added.

Edyit -- He's kind of like you, but bigger, yes? Another RoBF team?

That covers those who beat you. I can't tell who you would like to beat who don't already beat you (draws, etc.) Can you tell us who you would like to beat? That's how Nightstrike does it -- concentrate on a specific addition, and test changes against existing fight-list opponents. It's all about the net gain.

Beyond that, keep insta-ing up your gear (especially tattoo) and keep burning BA. Not much else you can do. I, for one, would like to congratulate you on your amazing success with your current MPR and total PR. You are to be commended!

What Sut said is correct.

You have to analyze those you cannot beat, and those you barely beat.

If you change something will you still beat those you just barely.

And, what can you change to try to beat those you cannot.

Well I can't really agree with you about a wall... It has only been recently (After Mikel added a new minion) and after G_Beee got a hold of Freed's Elb that I had any trouble with either of them. I was down to three people that farm me constantly which was fine by me... but now I have nub and ncb passing my Mpr/PR while winning about 10x less wins than this character has racked up. So now I just want to change a few things for the better...

Currently if I had a bigger Axbow I could add Double Trouble and if I can ever get by Mikel's DB (Won't ever happen) I could beat him as well. Right now my AS is going for naught against several people I fight. If I change it to pl/hp it will be that much better for my overall strat.

With NWO all I need is to pump enough damage at him with my measly Mage seeker. But I can't use both a MSK and an Axbow so I'm stuck going one way or the other. That is fine by me cause AMF will eventually get NWO off of my case... and that is the only thing two of my minions are training currently...

Koy well... thats a toughy. I will never be able to beat him while he uses EC... unless he is testing... with the Robf I use I can limit him to a few choices but other than that I can't do anything to him so I'm not worried about him at all.

And Edy... well I have beat him before... and now its real hard to do with both his Robf and MH swinging away at my lead minion. Not to mention his Robf is currently bigger than the one I use. AS was wonderful against both Edy and Koy but Native will work well too. Otherwise 3 of the 5 that give me lots of trouble and one that will be giving me trouble here soon use DM and almost completely nuke my AS. So all that wasted exp in AS is not doing one thing for my strat while using a medium PL with another 1.9 mil hp will help hugely against FTW and NWO.

I have been analyzing this strat change for weeks now... and from all that I have thought of it will only be better for me in the long run. I will test the PL amounts to see what works best but it is almost a certainty that I will train atleast 1.9 mil hp... I may even have to go back to a huge wall in front of everyone.

Thanks for your opinions folks and please keep them coming!

Any more ideas? Opinions?

Don't just make changes for the sake of making changes. Set a goal and work towards it. Pick one person that you want to focus on, and adapt to that. The more you try to just change without regard to your overall goal, the more you will over-extend yourself and drop in the rankings.
