Archery, evasion (in Changelog)

AdminJonathan April 6 2008 5:05 PM EDT

Increased evasion ranged bonus to 50% of what it was a week ago.

RBF evasion bonus is now 1/10 of tattoo "xp" applied to evasion. Still does not get a ranged bonus.

Archery now needs only 20% of ST to be maxed.

Relic April 6 2008 5:07 PM EDT

Hmmm, nice change to Archery, about a few days late though. It would have been really nice to have this change with the encumbrance change.

Godpanda April 6 2008 5:10 PM EDT

Intelligent archery change. Thanks ^.^

And we'll see what happens with evasion. Way too early to tell.

Mikel April 6 2008 5:19 PM EDT

Nice, I wondered how I went from .99 to 1.0.

TheHatchetman April 6 2008 6:21 PM EDT

"Hmmm, nice change to Archery, about a few days late though. It would have been really nice to have this change with the encumbrance change."

But then he would've been going overboard by granting himself a whole changeweek... Then changeweeks would be overpowered, the community would side up, and battle it out, eventually destroying CB as we know it!!!!! Gotta keep things in perspective, Glory ;)

QBRanger April 6 2008 6:49 PM EDT

I 100% agree with Glory.

This knowledge would have changed a lot that I did with my character.

And a lot involving disenchanting a 58M NW mageseeker.

QBOddBird April 6 2008 6:52 PM EDT

Everyone was saying to wait before disenchanting to see what else happened; if you disenchanted anyway, you ran a risk.

If there had been a big BoNE buff instead of an Archery buff, I'd be groaning too.

(except nobody would've seen a BoNE buff coming, I think we all could've seen the Archery buff coming)

Increased evasion ranged bonus to 50% of what it was a week ago.

errm so... whats the multipliers again?

iBananco [Blue Army] April 6 2008 8:49 PM EDT

1.5, 1.4, 1.3, 1.2, 1.1, 1.1.

lostling April 6 2008 8:51 PM EDT

thanks :)

MudBug The Redeemer April 6 2008 11:10 PM EDT

and I assume that evasion bonus carries over to UC? Right?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] April 7 2008 4:24 AM EDT

What was the change to the AoI? I remember reading about it yesterday, but can't remember where. :/

TheHatchetman April 7 2008 5:16 AM EDT

Wasn't exactly a change, it was just announced that the AoI doesn't stack the way everyone's been saying it does for the past year or so :P

lostling April 7 2008 5:38 AM EDT

so how does it work?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] April 7 2008 5:52 AM EDT

found it! :D

"AoI is not evasion, it just applies to to-hit calculations similarly"

And from the original Changelog;

"BTW, the +10 on the AoI is just so the PR effect works out the way I want... it's equivalent to +20 DB in its effect on PTH."

So no matter what else you're wearing/have trained, the AoI will reduce PTh (and if in excess Dex based CTH?) by flat -20.

lostling April 7 2008 5:55 AM EDT

is it affected by the modifiers?

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] April 7 2008 6:35 AM EDT

Ranged modifiers? I'd say no.

It's just a flat -20 PTH irregardless of anything else.

iBananco [Blue Army] April 7 2008 9:15 PM EDT

Any chance the ToA is going to get a drop to 1/10 too? I was kind of relying on the RoBF to be somewhat of a ToA counter.

Cube April 10 2008 5:26 AM EDT

Does 1/10 of tattoo "xp" mean 1/10th the NW added to DBs or not?

lostling April 10 2008 5:27 AM EDT

exp would be based on lvl of tatt... so i guess its safe to say that 10 lvls on your tatt would = 1 lvl of evasion

Ulord[NK] April 10 2008 5:28 AM EDT

Is that true? That means a 3mil tattoo only confers 300k level evasion. Seems to deviate from the stacking mechanism of DB usually used in this type of calculation...

lostling April 10 2008 10:32 AM EDT

trust me 300k evasion isint worth much :)

QBOddBird April 10 2008 11:42 AM EDT

12 exp point per level, so to assume it's per 10 lvls of tat is slightly off

iBananco [Blue Army] April 10 2008 11:55 AM EDT

Evasion from a level 2,006,627 RoBF: 56
Levels which correspond to 56 evasion: approximately 205,030-213,335.
Looks like 1 evasion/10 tat levels to me.

drudge April 10 2008 2:48 PM EDT

i was wonderin why my archery kept stay at 1.00 even though i had been training a lot of ST. now i know!

QBRanger April 11 2008 8:29 PM EDT

AH, I see the problem Henk.

According to the OLD changelog, the NW of the RBF was added like DBs.

The exact changelog: "added evasion bonus, roughly equivalent to the evasion added by a pair of DB at 1/3 the NW of the TBF. (Like DB, this evasion does not get a bonus during ranged. Also like DB, this stacks "correctly" -- 100 evasion + 100 DB is not 200 against PTH.)"

In the first changing of the RBF, the evasion was based on the RBF being converted to NW, then finding the equivalent DB minus PTH (the + on the DBs)

Now the changelog is :"RBF evasion bonus is now 1/10 of tattoo "xp" applied to evasion. Still does not get a ranged bonus. "

Now, how I read this is: The RBF is now, changed from before, to give bonus as xp based, NOT NW based. I think we have to assume (at least I do) that the "xp" of the tattoo is just 12 (xp per level) * level of tattoo. A simple way to calculate it.

So now the equivalent level of DB's does not matter. Straight xp to xp addition, converted to evasion (xxx). The tattoos part of the xp is not multiplied, however learned evasion is. I think also, that items will give bonuses to the tattoos xp contribution.

I have not done the calculations to prove or disprove this however, this seems the way Jon changed it.

Learn evasion on your RBF minion and see which way works. It has to be a nice sized evasion though to get goo statistics.

I certainly can be wrong.
