Disenchanting my bow? (in General)

Man it's been a while since i played this game, work restricted my internet usage to pretty much nothing so i am back lulz.

Cant even install Java to use chat or i would jut ask there.
1-- i cant see my bow as a option to disenchant it, i was able to reduce my Katana no problem but my 1.5 mil bow is a it much for my low level.
2--Anything wrong with using a shield and a bow only, i remember shield only gave you penalty with 2 handers, so the extra AC fro my archer seems to work ok, am I missing something?

1) a compound bow cannot be disenchanted. I do not know what type of bow you have though.

2) There is, it is not significant enough not to use and benefit from the extra AC.

Basically only rares can be disenchanted. The compound bow is not considered a rare.

If an item spawns in the store, it is not a rare.

Rare items only spawn into auctions.

You may find a rare in the store, but if you do it is due to someone selling it to the store.
