The Anti-Temptation game (in Contests)

With all the recent complaints, arguments, and generally non-utopian feel of late, I've decided that CB needs a random act of kindness. Actually, it could use a number of random acts of kindness. However, I will not be the one deciding to whom this money goes. You will! (Kind of)

The rules are simple: make a post stating who you think deserves the money (not yourself!) and why. The player who is most convincingly argued for, according to our friendly neighborhood OB, will get the money. Tell a bit of what the player did for you, or for Carnage Blender as a whole.

For example: I believe Picasso deserves the money. Since I started playing in 2005, he has always helped me with strat advice, patiently listened to my stupidest ideas, and given me a goal of someone to beat (but, of course, I canﾒt. Go figure).

So, tell me. Who deserves the money?

Shade.

My original mentor and the reason I'm still here and playing.

CB1 was a forboding atmosphere to get aquanted with, especially if you didn't use Chat. But Shade made me feel at home from the moment I received my first CM from him. From helping me when I'd spent all my cash on gear and couldn't heal before my next fight, to listening to my stuipd strat ramblings. Shade helped me get the courage to make my first Forum post, and took me thorugh the basics of the game.

Back in CB1 there was a contest like this, to win someone else a free naming. With little to my name, I entered and wanted to win, to pay back Sahde a little for all the help and support he gave me. I made a lot better entry for that competiton than this one, but I didn't win. :(

Hopefully I'll win this time, and can give Shade a gift I've owed him since CB1. ;)

oh right, the prize is the money on "generosity" currently 2.5 mill, but more to come!

GW. Weather you know him as Llama, Vampire, Godwoid, or Pippy, JetBlack, or Demon,(oh my head hurts) you know him. And to know him is to love him. Ok, love is a bit strong a word. :p
GW was the first person to take an interest in my character when I was new. I don't think he was even my mentor but he welcomed me into his clan and helped me rearrange my minions!
Even if you think he's an odd ball, you have to admit, more often that not he comes with a smile. One of his own and one for you. I think GW deserves it and deep down I don't think anyone can say that he DOESN'T. Meaning maybe there are some folks out there that are nearer and dearer to individual players, but everyone has to admit...
GW has made us ALL smile.

I could feel comfortable seeing several people rewarded for their virtues.

My original nomination was for Soxjr who has been my loyal clan mate since forever and is an all around swell guy.

Then someone mentioned my CB infatuation: Lamuness...
And GW has always entertained me...

I think I will stick with Sox, but I won't take back the 500k I'm about to donate if he doesn't win.

j'bob. He makes me laugh. Always. Always always always. I never stop laughing. Sometimes, I have to leave the computer to stop laughing. And when I come back, he's left a comment that makes me laugh. So.... J'bob.

SNK4R: For being one of the few people who asks how my day was. And for assorted other reasons, which if you can't think of, you don't know him. At all.

SundariZelia: For being the only person who -always- asks how I'm doing. For always being there. And for making me cookies, of course ^.^

Hatchetman: Good guy, good strategy. Always contributing something.

Ranger: For being there in times past. Perhaps less so now, but I do not forget. And these EBs ARE very shiny ^.^

Barzoo/GL/Johnnywas: For being staple members of the community, for always wanting the best for CB. For caring about all of you. Good guys, all 3.

There are tons of others. Obviously. I believe everyone in this community deserves money. But right now, that's what I got.

(Oh, yeah, I'd say novice, but he's being mean to me lately. SO NO DICE!)

(I'd also say OB, but he told me to kill myself, and that's not something I ever find funny. DL or not)

(The reason that I mention the people in () is because they're probably deserving, but I'm not going to give a pitch about why they deserve is because they've been lame, but just to me and just lately. So yeah)

Ancient_Anubis: Great guy, quiet at times but very helpful in strategy discussions and just a solid community member. He is running a great NCB and could very much use the cash for BA purchases.

After reading the few entries, I have decided that GentlemanLoser made the best case for whom he believes deserves the money most - Shade. As instructed by Templar, I have sent the prize money, split 80% to the player who deserves it and 20% to the player who nominated them.

(on a side note, I remember these same contests, and I remember happily winning one for my mentor. I can't recall who it was though. Shows how long I stuck around.)
