How do people think negative stats should be treated?
Should they be counted as 1?
Or should they take effect at the full (or some value) negative amount?
Should a 4M EC reducing a 20 STR to -2M only count as -19 for working out how much ENC is lost?

should be as 0 or 1, otherwise EC will rip through encumbrance too much.
10% HP + 90% EC + RoBF single minion. Mages wearing any equipment are encumbered into dust, since only 1/4 of their stats for the most part goes to encumbrance. Tanks do about 500 damage a pop with 0 ST. The only teams that come out on top are other RoBF chars or familiar-based teams. (And only magic familiars at that.)

1 or 0 is fine.
screwing teams with EC and ENC never has to happen

Only teams making the mistake of relying on ST get screwed by EC anyways
As long as the EC doesn't drive ST below 0, training HP and ST have the same effect on enc. If ST DOES go below 0, well, that's not going to be a very important minion anyways.
But, EC is only 1/2 as effective versus ST, as the same amount of HP is on ENC.
If Dex reduced ENC as well, it would be different.
So everyon'es ok with no matter how large your EC is, you really gain nothing from reducing 20 STR/DEX to 1/0?

Using EC to slow or stop a tank? Alright
Using EC to slow or stop a team?
So EC can make your team more accurate, make other teams less accurate, make other teams less powerful, cut a hole directly into a tank's HP, AC, ST, and DX (twice for the last two), and still isn't good enough???
I don't follow... =/

I think the current system is fine as it is.
No need to change something that is perhaps at worst, slightly off.
"As long as the EC doesn't drive ST below 0, training HP and ST have the same effect on enc."
This is not entirely true. Minions that train ST often wear at least some ST-boosting gear. So increasing 1 point of ST increases your ENC more than 1 point of HP.
