The familiar has been seen as inferior for a while but recently as a few people have noticed it's possible to junction on rediculously huge pieces of equipment as ENC does not effect junction level.
I thought if junction were effected by encumbrance but when trained gave an equal amount of ENC as HP or ST giving the junctions minions close to similar max ENC as a tank of similar exp(possibly higher since DX probably wouldn't be trained). The change would make reasonably sized(to their pr) equipment more necessary as they build up their ENC like other chars. As junction level needs to be 20% the familiars level overtraining junction could allow people to go over their ENC limit and still have 1.00
allowing the huge equipments to be used later on in the characters growth.
If I remember correctly change months were every 3 months so I figured I'd get this out while i still remember it XD.
I only know of 1 item that you would possibly junction with a huge nw. That is DB and there really isn't that much you can do to make a familiar overpowered.
The argument against this is the same one that's been used in the other thread. Familiars have a tough enough time already, and are effectively crippled minions with no way to fine tune XP or train more natural HP.
I guess the question comes down to your own opinions on being able to fight much higher than yourself using NW and very specific targets...

I think things are fine the way they are.
If someone wants to junction a huge set of DBs to a familiar, ok.
With the MTL in place, it is very vulnerable to AMF.
Remember the old days when someone would use a +200 set of DBs on a tank and beat everyone?
The difference is, then you could equip a similar +200 weapon and counter it without completely crippling your tank.

If you think Hal and JKF -really- need a limit on their encumbrance, be my guest, keep making suggestions.
But I will laugh at you, for you are foolish.

oh, and DBs that are over the encumbrance of the minion holding them still get an ENC penalty....

the minion wearing (not receiving through junction) them does, not the familiar - that is the problem here, right?

But seriously, the only thing that's going to matter is DBs, because nothing else that has a huge NW has as much impact. AGs+20 won't give you domination because you junctioned them to your familiar. I think it's fine as is.
