Since it is a flat bonus, I do not think that naming these new boots will do anything other then give +1 AC.
Anyone think differently?
Naming armor increases its stats by 4% -- also rounding up -- whether this is AC (for most armor) or something else such as for tattoos or Displacement Boots. (This 4% is treated as "enchantment bonus" so it will apply to magical as well as physical damage.)
I sure hope it would add to the +%. I was thinking about naming mine eventually.
It shouldn't. Naming affects the enchantment level, not the stat bonuses directly. Otherwise, naming would affect armor penalties as well.
So naming an AoI would have no effect either? The wiki states it would most likely.
naming would increase AC, as that is the stat that the enchantment is connected to. Increasing a flat effect due to naming would be like having TSAs regen slightly more when named :P Not entirely sure about the AoI as -2CTH is impossible to test for.

Anyone who loans me a pair of unnamed SBs...I can test with my junctioned familiar (or mage, I suppose)...
That's why DD in the post-battle stats is so handy. *smile* Anyone can check the difference naming has...

Sorry, went to bed...tried them both this morning, named and un-named, on Joe, no difference in DD post-battle stats.
It's not impossible that Jonathan assesses a tiny augment to the actual damage output, like 4% of the 3%. But I am doubting that, since it would be just as easy to assess at equip time...
