Help Wanted From The Community! (in Off-topic)

Ok, have I got your attention?

Our good friend OB has found himself, through circumstances which I'm sure a lot of you are very aware, in a rather large financial hole.

So I'm asking you, our dear community, to show some community spirit. I've set up an OB Fund. If any of you can help out with CB$ to help out Mr OB. Doesn't have to be much, but if you could pledge to place cash in there on a regular basis the amount could grow. For instance if ten of you were to place 100k a week that's a million a week.

Of course, nobodys forcing anybody to help. I'm just appealing to your better natures.

But if anybody is interested in helping then put your names here and how much you want to give per week.

And please please don't use this post to make any comments about the situation. Save that for elsewhere.

Greyfeld, that has been explained to me, which is why I sent 1.5M to help OB out.
It's play money and has absolutely no value to me. If it can help someone out of a tough spot, so be it.

For those of use who have been hiding under a rock and occasionally peeking out, what did OB do?

Not that I care for the gossip part, but exactly what are we doing? Sending $CB so it can be sold to pay OB's rent? In which case I can just be a buyer at the measly $4-per?

Or sending $CB to 'Birdie, that he will use to pay off something, which is two transfer fees?

Clarification on point and intent?

OB has a debt to Nightstrike. Quite large. (sorry to be airing you in public OB!). That in itself I'm not particularly fussed about. He's a big boy in that respect. But some of the means to payback disappeared overnight due to the new 'old supporters items' shop.

Luck of the draw and all that...you might say. And that's fine too.

But in the meantime, creek and no paddle spring to mind.

I've been helped out on occasion by people here; I'm just trying to do the same.

Of course some people might be looking to buy the CB$ at the end, so don't put it in, otherwise you're paying yourself for your own bucks!

Thanks JW, I just signed on and noticed this...but you guys shouldn't feel any need to help me out. Like JW said, I got m'self into this mess and I'll be a 'big boy' in that respect ;) just means I have a little while longer to stay in debt.

And basically it's just a bad timing thing. I was bidding with Anubis for Atomicboy's tattoo, and we both ended up deciding to make full lot bids because 1) Aboy needed the money 2) we could resell items and make back the extra, so why not?

You're right Greyfeld, it's simply a case of real money getting entangled with play money and it came out unfortunately. I don't particularly enjoy the humor at my expense, but I did make my own bed :)


I really appreciate the show of generosity and sympathy. I truly do. Though I don't want anyone to feel like they ought to do this, I'm in no position to refuse whatever money is given me...thanks again, guys. Just goes to show what kind of great people this community is made up of :)

lol i just want to make it clear that i have no problems with you OB, and I think it's cool that everybody wants to help you. Though I didn't realize that the whole supporter item change is what screwed you over. As I know the feeling behind changes getting in the way of perfectly laid out plans, I'll be happy to help throw in a bit of CB$ after I've spent what I need to for my character, and my funds stabalize a bit :)
