I'd do everything on that walk except for the few tight-rope walks across; my balance-beam skills are horrible.

Err, yeah, I watched a number of these videos and did a bit of reading on i a couple of months back. The wikipedia article now seems worse than it was, though.

If you don't feel like reading, it was made for the construction of the channel. They needed it so the workers could get to where they needed to go, transport materials (they had donkeys on this thing :V), and provide maintenance. I think it was the only way to cross the falls available then, but it was a while ago that i did the research.
