Anyone find it odd (in General)

that wall gear penalizes the wall skill? :P

Perhaps this was what brought on the lowering of an AC's penalties... Maybe it's properly in check, haven't gotten mine trained past .02 yet, so I definitely haven't tested enough to see how it plays out, and I'm not entirely sure SS would be useful for many minions who aren't walls.

Also, any chance familiars can get inherent steelskin? It's hard enough to give them a little armor as is without cloaks and chest armors... :P

Thats why it's 1/5 I think

TheHatchetman June 20 2008 6:35 PM EDT

with the penalties accompanying a wall set, you need 23.25581% for maximum effect.

TheHatchetman June 21 2008 2:21 PM EDT

14.53488% now. *much* better ^_^

w00t for Jon! :D

I find you odd. Does that count?

TheHatchetman June 21 2008 5:35 PM EDT

not really... stopped counting those who find me odd years ago... Began counting those who found me normal at about the same time. I'm up to 2...

The voices inside your head don't count as people, Hatch. :)

you only need about 258 AC to make SS effective with wall gear. its not so bad. assuming the effect of SS is linear (2x the XP = 2x the effectiveness of AC), below 258 AC with wall gear, don't bother with SS at all, otherwise keep pumping SS. The penalty means you need another 20 AC to make SS good. Its not so bad.

BW,

Did you use the new 1/8th instead of 1/5th in your calculations as per the newest changelog?

Cube June 21 2008 11:57 PM EDT

BlueWolf you forget both PL and AS give more HP not subject to training more SS, not to mention the ToE.

None of the voices in Hatch's head speak the same language as him or each other. So I don't think he knows how they REALLY feel about him....
I like him tho... he gives me cake.

Wizard'sFirstRule June 22 2008 5:47 AM EDT

*sigh*, more calculation.

Wizard'sFirstRule June 22 2008 5:49 AM EDT

double post:

ToE shouldn't change the maths as long as the maximum is big enough. You are just multiplying the Damage source by 25% (75% reduction). PL and AS might matter if SS level is based on trained HP, in which case, the break-even point is like 1AC if you only have 20 HP and massive AS.
