We need more elven gear! (in General)
We have the Elven Hauberk, Elven Boots, Elven Gloves, Elven Cloak, Elven Long Sword, Elven Long Bow and the latest creation the Elven Stiletto.
We can almost fully equip our minions with full elven gears.
Is it time for the Elven Shield and Elven Helmet?
Petition for more elven gears! (non forgeable of course)
Moar elven! Moar evasion! MORE COWBELL!

An AoI isn't good enough for me. I want an Elven Amulet of Invisibility! Yarr!! Pretty Please?
I think if you pay Jon like $10 and 2 AoI, you can have 2 of them. (I know I got the naming rate wrong, but you get the point).
I agree with this thread. Make Elven Gear a full set, and we might even see the introduction of Set Bonuses? >.>

I already about a year ago said that we would need more armor SETS!
Elven Set
Chain Mail Set
Leather Set
Plate Mail Set
and then make those complete sets gain certain bonuses, small but nice enough to have.

An Elven Amulet [0]
Each plus adds one to accuracy for all weapons. Weapon type is irrelevant. Works for ranged and melee weapons. No AC.
An Elven Hood [5]
Same additional effect as the Elven Amulet. Normal AC.
An Elven Shield [6]
Each plus reduces .75% of ranged weapon damage. Normal AC. Normal Dex shield penalties. No penalty to magic spells.

"Lucky Elven Foot"
Like a rabbit's foot only, ya know, from an elf.
It up's your PTH anywhere from 30 - 300 percent!
Depending on how big the elf was when ya took his foot!

I like the idea of naming the helmet a 'hood'
that is all

The idea of items working more "together" is a neat on.
Elven cloak and hood together giving a slightly higher bonus than their sum would be. Maybe at the expense of something else as a trade off...
there always has to be a trade off...
but alas, this has been spoken of many times before..
(/me wishes on my lucky elven foot)
I think that elven gear should be mage-oriented. I mean.. come on.. elves are known for their super magical awesomeness. And that's why in every game elves make the best spellcasters.

I thought elves = dextrous, nimble archers and frequent users of the rapier and its cousins?

"I think if you pay Jon like $10 and 2 AoI, you can have 2 of them. (I know I got the naming rate wrong, but you get the point)."
But they wouldn't be enchanted by Elven magic. They would only have "names of power." Since when did names of power grant you access to secret Elven forests, huh? -_-
And I thought all elves were black? With two scimitars named Twinkie and Ice-cream-death?
No way, OB. In any medieval-type RPG, elves are always best at magic. I mean, even in LOTR, the elves had super magic powers.

"The idea of items working more "together" is a neat on. "
I agree that it's a neat idea.
But definitely not more bonus to skills. If we're going to have more Elven gear, the very last thing in the game that we need is another Evasion boost, especially after this change month.

"No way, OB. In any medieval-type RPG, elves are always best at magic."
I also always thought of elves as graceful dexterous types, rather than mages. Look at Legolas, or the archers in Warcraft.
Well, every elf in the movie that isn't Legolas is a super powerful mage. Can't say anything about Warcraft, but in World of Warcraft, most of the night elves are mages.
I like the armor sets idea. It would give more options, i.e. going for a whole set of similar items vs. going for a particularized set each based on individual bonuses. It seems like Elven Boots are the only Elven item in a lot of peoples' set-ups. If DBs were to fit into a set, the preferred enchanter and mage gear set-ups may shift to favor one or the others. Similarly, the Chain Mail set could become the preferred Wall Armor, unless a plate-mail-type boot were to be introduced...

"Well, every elf in the movie that isn't Legolas is a super powerful mage."
How about the elf fighters/archers in The Two Towers?
With Warcraft I meant the earlier games. I have no idea what they're like in World of Warcraft.

"Well, every elf in the movie that isn't Legolas is a super powerful mage."
What I think he meant was that every Elf in LOTR movies that wasn't Elrond was not a super powerful Mage.
Well, apart from Galadriel. Then again, we're only going on heresay since I don't remember seeing any super powerful spells being cast.

Arwen made some water horses, or something. Yeah, the elves were magical too, but they were quick and nimble fighters too. It's that side that we see most here with the elven gear, thankfully so.

OH! Great idea Lord Bob, with full elven gear one would summon a new familiar,
TIDAL STEED!
HP and "Tidal Wave" (similiar to UC butttt...)
Attacks all enemy minions simultaneously (think UC meets Fireball) and lowers the damage of physical enemy attacks (ever try fighting underwater!)
I'm in! Who's with me!!?? Come on people Tidal Steed, Tidal Steed, Tidal Steed...
say it with me...
anyone?
Move aside long ears, I WANT DWARVEN EQUIPMENT!
I have always thought of elves as being more archers/light armed fighters than mages. I mean, they're like 7'2'', 150 lbs. Archery just goes with hunting/woodlands in my mind.
In WoW, I'm pretty sure Night Elves cannot be mages. They can be priests and druids, but not a 'I'm going to sheep you then run away to nuke you' kinda mage.
And for the record Lifesilencer: lvl. 52 NE Rogue FTW.
I'm not sure about a new familiar, but I think mounts would be a fun idea. It would add a whole new dynamic to this game. Like, heavier mounts like rhinos for tanks with high AC. Tidal steed go go go!
Hm. I guess I was wrong about the elves. But if it makes any difference, all the MUDs I've played like Materia Magica have elves as the strongest mage race.
Dwarven armor and weapons is definitely a cool idea. Besides, dwarves are known for making the best armors/weapons.

That would be nice. Maybe dwarven items provide bonuses to forging. Honestly, I can't think of any better idea right now.

Dwarven Boots. + to ST and + to PTH while using any BLUNT weapon (SoC buff-ish) or axe. (i think we need a more powerful axe option) NO bonus with edged (read swords and daggers, yes I know axes have edges but I hear dwarves like em!) or ranged weapons.

Night elves cannot be mages in WoW,
they can be at least druids, rogues, warriors, hunters, and priests.. 4/5 dextrous classes
"(i think we need a more powerful axe option)"
