Armor: 502 (in General)

o_O

Is the Armour of FTW's 'Super Armour' Minion correct? Doesn't that mean (with Steel Skin, which he has), he's now immune to all Physical damage (bar the VB/ES)?

If so, wow!

QBRanger June 29 2008 8:30 PM EDT

Has someone forgotten the new changelog where Armor is 20% less effective?

VivaPinata June 29 2008 8:31 PM EDT

@ ranger: "(with Steel Skin, which he has)"

Pheather June 29 2008 8:34 PM EDT

Steel skin ups your AC, it doesn't change the AC at which attacks are ineffective.

AdminNightStrike June 29 2008 8:35 PM EDT

SS just adds more AC. All AC is at the lower rate (0.167)

so 502 is 84% reduction.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 29 2008 8:36 PM EDT

I thought it was only the effectiveness of AC that changed, not the amoutn shown?

"Reduced AC effectiveness by 20%; will update exact formula in the wiki.
Added "Steel Skin" skill; at a level of 1/5 your HP, it will boost AC effectiveness by 25% (that is, back to the old AC effectiveness, since 1.25 * 0.8 = 1)"

So if you had (for exmaple) 100AC pre change, it would actually show now (without Steel Skin) as 80?

But the individual AC values of each item aren't changed, only the calculated totals? :/

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 29 2008 8:38 PM EDT

My minion GL has 63 AC total from items. I have an Armour total of 63 shown on the equip page.

No steel skin.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 29 2008 8:41 PM EDT

Ah... I see, My other minions total Armour is higher than his invdidual peices, due to Steel Skin.

That's a little confusing.

Maybe the Wiki should be changed to AC being just the new Rate, and Steel skin changed to increase your armour.

None of this increasing the effeciency back.

QBRanger June 29 2008 8:43 PM EDT

Jon did change the Wiki to .167% per AC.

winner winner June 29 2008 8:46 PM EDT

so LA has 100% protection from melee attacks?

Tyriel [123456789] June 29 2008 8:47 PM EDT

No, he has 0.167 * 502 = 83.834% protection from physical attacks.

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 29 2008 8:50 PM EDT

Semantics I guess.

I would understand;

"Steel Skin boosts your total AC by 25%"

Easier than the current;

"Steel Skin boosts AC effectiveness by 25% (that is, back to the old AC effectiveness, since 1.25 * 0.8 = 1)"

As to me the current terminolgy implies that total AC is changed from 0.167 back to 0.21.

But I suppose that's just me. ;)

winner winner June 29 2008 8:53 PM EDT

So the SS would boost the AC back up to 502?

TheHatchetman June 29 2008 8:54 PM EDT

hehe... and i thought my 441AC set of un-named armor was getting some awkward looks :P I didn't notice SS's effect until i actually looked at one of my post-battle stats thing and saw 390... first thing I did was check changelogs... Second thing I did was train more steelskin, which put my AC up to 392

TheHatchetman June 29 2008 8:59 PM EDT

"As to me the current terminolgy implies that total AC is changed from 0.167 back to 0.21."

nope... not just you... with the current phrasing, your thoughts were absolutely correct. I think Jon just put it that way so that there would be less people crying foul after investing in armor sets for walls... ^_^

I kinda like that the ability to take an easy 50+ pth from an enemy via a small evasion (even against the old 22% penalty to skills, it was easy to get a decent effect). WALLS DON'T MOVE!!! :P

"So yeah, I was driving up the road, and I hit a wall... It wasn't my fault though, I swear! one second, it's attached to the K-Mart I was driving past, the next, it's right there in the second lane swearing someone's shooting arrows at it" :o

599 AC for total physical nerfage

AdminQBGentlemanLoser [{END}] June 30 2008 4:47 AM EDT

I assume the increased Steel Skin AC counts as enchancement AC for Shocking Grasp?
