should i turn my steel familiar into a eletric familiar?
which familiar would best benefit my team

With dispel magic, your set up for the "quick kill".
The EF is for characters built to last into melee.
although, it would work well with GA instead of PL ^_~ check out my team. :P
2 minion with AS + a PL. I don't see this team getting quick kills. I would consider using EF and SG instead of MM/SF.
