N*B %? (in General)

With the rework to score killing off a decent portion of the deadzone that LA was already able to overcome enough to take the top spot with (yeah yeah, USD expense and minion hiring, whatever. he did it, no?), wouldn't it make sense to have the N*B percent lowered?

Just something I thought of and don't have time to flesh out any better due to my bus to work coming in 10 minutes ^_^

Doesn't that mean the N*B would then be taking into account minion hiring as part of normal character growth toward the top MPR?

I don't think that's a good idea. N*B is expensive enough already without making minion hiring mandatory for it to reach its goal.

What are you trying to do to me Hatch? Leave it where it is, you will completely screw up my NCB. :P

The current percentage is already low enough (high enough?) that without buying much BA I got to 2 million MPR by the end of it. I bought BA for the first couple of weeks, additionally I started with no saved BA or transferred character.

Lower the percentage and you're penalising those people who haven't got the cash to input.

And as for minion hiring, what if you want a single minion to be the end result of your bonus? Not really fair on people like me who only like four minions or one and nothing in between!!!

the fact that jon had said at one point that we may need a further adjustment later on leads me to believe that he has some method of gauging where it should be. i think if we do see a more doable challenge bonus throughout a run then it will get adjusted around that.

Just getting this out in the open, cuz with the end of the deadzone at the current bonus percentage You could pass up top MPR by a decent margin just by buying BA alone. Then hiring minions puts you in a new realm as far as the MPR standings go. Not sure about you guys, but I'm currently growing ~15-20% faster than i was a week ago...

IMO, if a N*B uses a regular tatoo from start to finish, doesn't miss any BA, buys all BA (free for NUB) and also does not hire any additional minions (say he started with 4, for instance), while also fighting same-sized (PR) opponents with max challenge bonus (100%) all the time receiving maxed-out (15%) clan bonuses then he should definetely get to at least 95% of top MPR by the end.

Wasn't LA using a RoE to get that far?

Sickone July 8 2008 9:09 PM EDT

Yeah, LA was getting constant 12-15% clan bonuses, used a named RoE almost constantly (especially in the dead zone, that's more like 40% extra growth rate compared to a regular tatoo) and also hired minions as he went up pretty deep into the dead zone (he started as solo fireball mage, so he got at least 20%, maybe even 25% of his XP from hiring minions).

well we don't need as much NUB with inflated scores. As normal gameplay would be boosted. It means people with lower power/PR can actually have a faster growth rate!
