Free retraining for first (insert time) of NUB (in General)

Just seems like a good idea, so that new players can test out and learn all about the new skills/stats without fear of losing progress. Whatever MPR is gained being kept...just the latest silly idea to pop out of my head :)
Either way, I see no reason to penalize a newbie for not knowing how to play. Granted, after a (week/month/3 days/whatever) of playing normal play would come back into effect.
That's not a bad idea, OB

Good idea.
beautiful, this is almost as good as a delayed start to the bonus...

1 or 2 months is wishful thinking. The most I think would be 2 weeks.
free retrain all of nub so i can go get me a tank. jk, thatd be to crazy. I think they should allow 3 free retrains, to be used whenever needed.

i say NUBs should do whatever they want without any negative affect =)
no bias what so ever =P
you're not doing them a service if you make the game easier... did all of you find the game too hard as it is now?

Totally against it.
They have such a bonus to begin with.
If it is to be done, no more then 1 week maximum.

/agree with ranger. 5x rewards and free BA? Just how stupid do we think these new players are that they need such huge advantages?

They have the same bonus as the NCB, but without the ability to save up 1600 BA or pre-existing knowledge of the game.
I say don't penalize them for not knowing the game yet. It wouldn't last long, Ranger, just helps them to keep from blowing their first thousand battles.

As a new user, retraining barely costs them any exp anyway.
If they're low enough to not know the game, the exp loss is minimal. If they've reached a point that the exp loss is significant, they should know the game already.

*shrug* Was just a thought. Regardless of how small, I see no need to penalize newbies for not knowing the game. Besides, simply the knowledge that there's a penalty for doing so can dissuade them from retraining when their strategy really needs it.

Besides, if you truly believe it will make no difference end-game, why should you be opposed to it? :0)

There are many NUB players that create threads asking for assistance because they either screwed up their character or just plain didn't have a grasp of game dynamics to train effectively.
I for one think it is a wonderful idea to allow free retraining for the 1st month of the NUB. Playing completely dedicated will only get them to around 1.3 mil MPR after a month, that is when things get more difficult and you start running up against better and better strategies.
Especially when older veteran players have had the advantage of playing numerous characters, sporadic free retrains and other various advantages throughout their stint here.

I suppose i'm not opposed to it... as long as it doesn't provide them with another large advantage that they simply don't need. And the way it would be set up it looks like it wouldn't so I'd throw my support behind it, as long as the period was at MOST one month

I think it would really help them starting out. I started an NCB recently and it just happened to coincide with the free retrain week. It made things a lot easier. I have to say this is a great idea.
I'd give them two weeks or so. It really won't affect the gameplay much, but psychologically they won't be afraid to retrain.

"I think they should allow 3 free retrains, to be used whenever needed."
The problem I have with that form of the idea is that they'd have to apply it, and with ENC I think things have been made complicated enough, but I see no harm in not penalizing them early on.
