How about an EO boosting tattoo ? (in General)

Just like the Rune of Solitude, but for whatever EO you have trained, not the ED.
Call it... I don't know... "Rune of Hostility" ?

EITHER no aura of any kind, but higher effect on the EO level addition
OR similar EO level boost (to the RoS ED level boost), but also a NW-based mild leadership-like effect aura on all your minions (even if there's a single minion left alive, and the rune wearer died) with an "upgrade curve" noticeably lower than any of the leadership items (but stackable).

What do you say ?

brutal... and likely to be unused without some other ability... like say reducing the effects of opponents EO on you

EOs are strong enough as they are atm... leave them be

Sickone July 31 2008 2:15 PM EDT

Well, the second variation would be awesome for, say, an EC killslot-only enchanter with a Corn alongside any ranged combat character... you decrease damage from other archers significantly, and you boost your archer's chance to hit a lot (both from the EC and the leadership effect)... might even prove quite effective against enemy evasion too (at least the DX CTH part).
Of course, it would have to be overall slightly more effective than a single archer ToA strategy, otherwise it WOULD be useless.

The third variant you mentioned, protection from enemy EO... well, that would be something indeed... but it might be a bit too powerful... depends how much the protective effect would be.

"EOs are strong enough as they are"

Yep.

QBOddBird July 31 2008 2:52 PM EDT

EOs are already incredibly powerful, with only one damage type left untouched by their abilities (RoBF.)

There is no need to boost them further; the RoS already does that quite well, giving users the ability to use a significant amount of DM along with other EOs at zero penalty.

I say you should think your ideas through more.

EC is a bit overpowered in it's ENC causing effects atm, and AMF, well it's the reason many mages loose, doesn't matter how many layers of defense you have when you're mage kills himself.

your*

it's bothering me D:

You know what bothers me? People spelling "lose" as "loose". It is happens far too often for it just to be a common typo and it drives me nuts seeing people do it.

You know what bothers me!? JarLs. Damn those things. Always being so darn JarLy. I mean, the name isn't even recognized by the spellchecker! Such utter fail. Seriously. Lots of fail.

I like the idea. While the idea may need some fine tuning, I think its an original and solid idea.

Don't stop being creative!!

I'd say EC and AMF are both just fine as is. In fact, AMF may well be a little underpowered.

After all, NSC can take away quite a bit of that AMF with a very small investment.

EC is easily outpaced by tanks using any gears, and even moreso by tanks with a ToA. Teams using EC generally have to focus almost exclusively on tanks as prey, and are at the least more vulnerable to mages.

I don't see how this makes the spells "Overpowered", it just lets you concentrate your xp elsewhere.

However, an interesting addition would be a tattoo that protects you from EOs.

Then we end up with another "x itself isn't overpowered, just it's ability to be used with y..." discussions :P
