Gas (LPG) is about $1.07 per liter. Petrol is $2.39 and diesel is $2.03. Fortunately I don't have to pay it, my company does ;)

InebriatedArsonist August 10 2008 1:28 AM EDT

The cheapest gas in the Allentown, Pennsylvania area is about $3.58 per gallon.

And somehow I think Bartjan is pricing gasoline by the liter.

SimplyNic August 10 2008 2:08 AM EDT

Arizona; $3.82/gallon

BadFish August 10 2008 2:10 AM EDT

$3.62/gallon here in San Anontio, Tx.

AdminShade August 10 2008 10:29 AM EDT

Gasoline is around €1.60 per liter here in The Netherlands.

That would convert to $6 per gallon.

RVT August 10 2008 11:06 AM EDT

Ranges Between $4.15 in San Martin and Hollister, CA to $4.25 in Gilroy, CA. But probably not as high as San Francisco.

Suqataqus August 10 2008 11:16 AM EDT

It just dropped under $4.00 again in Fresno, CA ($3.94-3.99). Peaked at $4.60 here just about two weeks ago.

Are we comparing apples to oranges here ?

e.g.

Different countries have some variation in what RON (Research Octane Number) is standard for gasoline, or petrol. In the UK, ordinary regular unleaded petrol is 91 RON (not commonly available), premium unleaded petrol is always 95 RON, and super unleaded is usually 97-98 RON. However both Shell and BP produce fuel at 102 RON for cars with hi-performance engines, and the supermarket chain Tesco began in 2006 to sell super unleaded petrol rated at 99 RON. In the US, octane ratings in fuels can vary between 86-87 AKI (91-92 RON) for regular, through 89-90 (94-95) for mid-grade (European Premium), up to 90-94 (RON 95-99) for premium unleaded or E10 (Super in Europe)
Gasoline (gas) or petroleum spirit (petrol) is a petroleum-derived liquid mixture consisting mostly of aliphatic hydrocarbons, enhanced with iso-octane or the aromatic hydrocarbons toluene and benzene to increase its octane rating, and is primarily used as fuel in internal combustion engines.

Most Commonwealth countries or former Commonwealth countries (with the exception of Canada) use the word "petrol", abbreviated from petroleum spirit. "Gasoline" is commonly used in North America, where it is often shortened in colloquial usage to "gas." It is not a genuinely gaseous fuel used in internal combustion engines such as liquefied petroleum gas, stored pressurised as a liquid but allowed to return to a gaseous state before combustion.

Mogas, short for motor gasoline, distinguishes automobile fuel from aviation gasoline, or avgas. "Gasoline" in British English can refer to a different petroleum derivative historically used in lamps, but this is now uncommon.

The bigger questions: are those of you not paying in $USD reporting your prices using "$" before or after doing the currency conversion? And how many of the $USD spenders are mentally converting liters to gallons, when mentally comparing prices. :P

RVT August 10 2008 11:32 AM EDT

I believe its somewhere around 3.8L/Gal?

Lord Bob August 10 2008 12:13 PM EDT

It was $3.74 yesterday here in Detroit.

LuisOrtiz August 10 2008 1:35 PM EDT

Assuming $3.50 USD/1 million CB, I'm paying CB 1,111,428 per gallon in MA.

bartjan August 10 2008 3:10 PM EDT

I completely filled up yesterday, and I had to refuel today again. Apparently driving 190 (km, *not* miles) an hour, which is as fast as the VW Touran I currently have goes, is not very fuel efficient.
But, driving via Germany to Zolder, Belgium (to watch the races there) is the most time efficient...

DSFARGEG August 10 2008 3:13 PM EDT

$3.45 here in Omaha, NE.

Paid between $3.80-$4.21 all along I-80 and throughout Oregon.

Sacredpeanut August 10 2008 4:35 PM EDT

NZ$2.05/litre for 95 RON, thats about US$5.25/gallon

Sickone August 10 2008 5:22 PM EDT

In the EU, prices vary around 7.5-8.5 USD/gallon... much more variation due to country/city rather than between different fuel types (octane number, regular or diesel, etc).

Cube August 10 2008 7:05 PM EDT

$5/gal where I am now exactly, guess I win the US bracket.

[RX3]Cotillion August 10 2008 7:08 PM EDT

Grats Cubic. Enjoy being a winner!

Mythanth August 10 2008 7:39 PM EDT

$1.31/L Can , $15.00 to fill up the motorcycle with premium.
