Tattoo Artist - new method (in General)

At first, I thought this might be good and different, but now, I'm not a fan at all of it.

Some base Tattoo's are costing more than the 800k that was needed to convert one to a different tattoo and back again if it didn't work.

Now if you could sacrifice any tattoo to get it changed to a tattoo of your choice, then it might not be so bad. As it is now, it's not working.

I'm hating it too.

That's not the only problem... if it would only cost more, it would be ok... but there's just not enough base tattoos spawning in the first place.

It was a good idea for the scrapyard, but I don't see why the tattoo artist had to use the same methodology.
The weapons, those you can at least disenchant to base before you "sacrifice" in the scrapyard, but with tattoos, you can't... so if you find any that's not at base, it hurts even more.

The SY is ok, the TA isn't.

just let tats spawn 15-25% more and it will be fine. and its changemonth, you expect people to experiment. maybe allow a lesser tat + base tat of the same type = a tat with same level? so new players can start with a lesser tat and convert the XP when they can afford it.

It's just too damn expensive. Maybe make the Tattoo Artist free (or close to it) for all of changemonth? I need to reink but I don't want to have to waste a perfectly good tattoo if I need to switch back.

I don't mind the expense, it's the inability to change my tattoo type when I want to that I don't like.

its up to you whether you want to change your tatt.... somehow i dont see the points your people are trying to bring up....

if it cost 800k... consider it 400k -> and 400k back considering you can always reverse the effect

well if you want to bid on the current over powered item be prepared to pay more...

and apparently he doesnt have any problems with actually bidding that much....

Well, taking a look at auctions, it seems the problem has been solved.

A little overboard... but, I guess it works. =)

but that's only for now, how about later when all the auctions are finished ? Are there going to be tons of base tats in auction ? like maybe 2-3 base tattoos of every kind per day in auction or something like that ?

And if there isn't going to be what the previous poster said, there will for sure be a lot of base tattoos out from people hording them in the current auctions.. and trying to overprice them later (well possibly) (and not from me... I'm actually using them and losing them to the tattoo artist).

Mikel, my stupidity in overbidding that should not be used as a data point.

According to auction history, a couple base HF's recently sold for well under 400K. With a switch and switch back, that means the tattoo artist would actually be HALF the cost.

Let's not say the sky is falling just yet based on one overzealous fool (me *smile*). I do think spawning should increase a bit, though, at least during times of great change. Having to wait to test new changes out is a bit frustrating...
