So I just took the SAT... fun stuff.
Now I have a massive headache.
And playing computer games. Good mix.

Just posting this to complain, feel free to complain if you too just took this deadly test.

Oh yeah, took it two years ago... verbal's all about memorizing the entire English dictionary and the "math" is a torrid joke. 4 hour tests my [butt]. Are you going to hit some of those subject tests?

Seriously, by the end of this year you'll vomit if you see any more MCs.

I'm thinking about a chemistry subject test. It is a lot of fun in school right now.

You know what the test will be like :P regardless of how the school course is.

And I almost forgot to complain about the GREs! Same olde dictionary questions and some "reading", idiotic pre-calculus math and two writing assignments. Some "computer-adaptive" testing which means you can't go back and change your answers at all. At least since you're dealing with a computer you can throw away those extra minutes by finishing early. 'Twas only a 2-hour ordeal this time.

Just got that darned writing score back: 5/6 (77%), apparently I don't write well enough. Bleh.

What's the difference between SAT and ACT? Just wondering..

Colonel Custard [The Knighthood] October 4 2008 6:39 PM EDT

The SAT is run by the College Board, the ACT is run by ACT, Inc. The SAT has 10 sections, the ACT has 4 sections, plus an optional writing (essay) section. The ACT is easier. Easier not to fall asleep in the middle of, I mean.

SAT is scored out of 2400 (800 reading, 800 math, 800 writing, used to be 1600 before the writing section was added a couple of years ago). The ACT is scored out of 36, with the total score being the average of each of the 4 sections subscores (Science, Math, Reading, English). I think the writing score is calculated separately, out of 12, and doesn't affect the overall score from the other sections.

I liked the ACT better. The SAT was dumb.

Obscurans, please keep it PG.

mmm, brain...

I guess I got carried away by the flames... lol. But anyways, they're not that useful unless you have a 90+ average and get 400s on the tests, in which case just hide.
