Forgive me for bringing this up again but Im new and I would like to say something. Admins if you don't like this feel free to close my thread, you won't hurt my feelings none.

Okay if I were to name one of my minions J.C. would I get flamed on? I mean there is one saying that I am bringing up that everyone should take heed of:

Until I noticed the "religion" thing in your link (by the way you have to select "HTML" for links to display right, and use <br> tags for linebreaks) I was at a loss why would anybody go bonkers over a minion named "J.C."

But then again I'm an atheist so... ;)

I don't know tal, I am a strong Christian and I don't see were this would have a place in CB. It wouldn't really upset me, but I think there are those who would be upset by it.

If anybody gets offended by a minion named "Jesus Christ" I'd suggest they'd need to re-examine their own faith first (how's that with turning the other cheek and/or forgiveness and such again?), then make a judgement again.

I know no one cares but it doesn't bother me.

You'd seriously need to be a pretty zealous and closed-minded Christian to even start being bothered by it, but then again, such a person would probably be offended by the whole concept of CB as a whole to begin with, so we're talking a very narrow range of possible people that MIGHT get offended by it.

Oh well... I guess it's slow news day today, isn't it ? :)

Well firstly God isn't religion specific, secondly you're still assuming. Are post the only way of communicating?

I dont have a problem with it or anything but why would you? JC doesnt really have anything to do with Tal or destrinator to the best of my knowledge.

The one being offended by it makes an even bigger assumption (that this was MEANT as an offense), so let the ones without sin cast the first stone, as they say.
Ok, now, would *I* name my character/minion "Jesus Christ" after posting what I posted, now THAT might be constituted as almost inviting a flaming, but still not offensive.
Of course I won't do that, but there's absolutely no good reason to BE offended by somebody who did name one of their minions as such.


I was born Christian Orthodox myself, and have studied (and argued about the finer points of) religion in general, and Abrahamic religions in particular significantly more than the average Christian.
But that's a completely different story and almost everybody on this planet still has the privilege to believe whatever he wants to believe, no matter how silly it might seem to others who do not share the same belief.

Beelzebub is used in just about every video game. So i think JC or any of its equivalents should be fine also. :)

Naming a minion Jesus Christ or God is no better than naming your dog that. Whoever can sink so low to mock our lord and savior so will certainly burn in hell for his sins.

religion aside... The rules of CB as have always understood them is be PG and don't be negative. I believe that if you meet those standards then no one should take offense. On personal note I think that its a little sad the question is raised in time of free speech and tolerance.

Well, you only need to look at the last date that character posted, his account picture and his character names to conclude that it's either a person with serious issues OR a person who was simply joking.

I can respond to this in only two ways, which I'll tone down as much as possible in order to not be offensive...

I either could tell you that I sincerely hope you're just joking, or I could make a joke myself and say it's a good thing I'm no longer a Christian, since I can finally speak my mind and tell it like I see it.

As a Christian, I'm not offended by it.

I'm offended, please don't name your character that which should not be named. If you do, I'll probably have to quit CB for good.

Dude, I'm straight emo. Sarcasm does not please me. It saddens me because I don't get it and just wish everyone could be serious all the time.
