SoC questions (in General)

Alright, I was wondering the properties of the damage given by SoC.

Is the damage directly added onto the first hit? If so, does BL apply? Does the multiplied damage from MoD multiply the SoC damage as well against AS?

And what weapons specifically apply to SoC? Does the whip apply? I'm curious to what non big 5 weapons use SoC.

The damage added is sort of GA-esque- it's a seperate damage, so BL does not apply. The MoD does not increase SoC damage against AS.

All hammer weapons work with the SoC. The whip is neither a hammer or a bladed weapon. I already suggested the War Hammer, as that's the lowest hammer type weapon out there, and as such has the best + curve you'll find on a hammer.

does PL apply to it then? If it does, can you use an MoD to get around it?

Any idea if it still does damage, if your weapon hits, but does no damage. (For example a 20 strength guy with a war hammer)

Turn that period into a question mark.

"Is the damage directly added onto the first hit? If so, does BL apply?"

Yes and Yes

"Any idea if it still does damage, if your weapon hits, but does no damage. (For example a 20 strength guy with a war hammer)"

Yes

"does PL apply to it then? If it does, can you use an MoD to get around it? "

One would assume. ?The shield returns two damage hits, the stored damage is added to the normal hit and the reflection damage is added as a separate hit (the shield flashes)

I've never used a mod with it above x16 on anything but a base str minion. But from observation stored damage does not multiply the AS damage bonus

I'm almost positive that SoC reflection damage is NOT added to your hit, since it is counted as a seperate damage source ("XXX's Shield of Capacity flashes!") But I may be wrong, and if it's added to your weapon's damage, then BL would apply correspondingly...

Well after actually running through a few fights and seeing the damage return:

The Drunken Bomber's shield flashes! [196,110]
The Drunken Bomber pounded Hal with A Zippo [1021715]
The Drunken Bomber draws strength from his weapon! [342740]
The Drunken Bomber tapped Hal with A Zippo [250330]
The Drunken Bomber draws strength from his weapon! [144244]

The initial bloodlust hit is normally 3x a standard hit. wich would bring it to around 750-800k. So from the log it looks like it does not multiply the return damage or stored damage at all. I tried it a few times to make sure.

standard hit of 250k x 3 is 750k return damage 200k with some wobble. I'm actually trying to figure out if it adds the flash in for your top hit. Since I have no idea how I managed 3.9 million on one hit. that would be over a million sored damage wich is way more than I could take in hits before getting killed.

does anyone have experience with a small weapon with base str and an SoC, hammer and BL?

That would probably be the best info.

is SoC damage reduced by AC?

three4thsforsaken October 27 2008 7:38 PM EDT

does VA work with SoC damage?

Flatcap [East Milwaukee Devival] October 27 2008 8:51 PM EDT

"is SoC damage reduced by AC? "

Don't know about the flash portion but the stored damage is.

"does VA work with SoC damage?"

Again the stored damage yes, the flash no

three4thsforsaken October 27 2008 9:50 PM EDT

I'm pretty sure the flash isn't damage but the damage that is added to the hit

I believe you are right sir. I just ran the damage againt the post battle stats and even with my terrible math skills it came out right.

Now I've just gotta figure out if it's actually reducing GA return damage. You would think it would. Would be even nicer if it stored the damage reduction too. But I get the feeling it's not even reducing it.
