COC 0.1372*5
FB 0.078333333*5
MM 0.294066667
SG 0.372533333
for those who understand... good and for those who dont...
basically 1 lvl in these spells will give you that much max damage

Would be nice if you labeled the axes and provided the regression lines.
does this take into account the 10% damage nerf way back when, then the 1/3rd recent damage nerf?

its up to date
COC and SG doesnt fire until melee... so it doesnt really work that way...

How high a level does this go to? Was it enough to get far enough out of the asymptotic approach to max damage %?
are FB and CoC based on total damage? Are the ranged modifiers all correct? Something looks odd when MM is outdamaging CoC

CoC is multiplied by 5 the damage value is for 1 target out of 5. (I don't know why but it is)
Ranged modifiers are applied after this.

yes COC and FB in the graph are based of against 1 person out of 5...

I am not really getting it, since it says the multi-target spells vastly outperform the single-target ones in total damage output? It just runs away so much that how is SG/MM viable at all? And err CoC outstrips FB by round 8 so that's pretty crappy.

look at the graph... and imagine COC and FB x5 thats how much it outperforms SG and MM

x axis is number of rounds and y axis is the amount of damage
we could use a new graph, the other graph doesn't tell us much :P.
BTW, what are the ranged modifiers again?
And that's for SG before any AC bonuses?
Also, FB and CoC don't do less damage versus a single target, so the /5 amounts aren't really useful.

Oh it's rounds? Okay that's more interesting.
Everyone's right though it would be more intuitive if it wasn't versus 1 target.

:) there you go... and yes this includes the ranged modifiers for the first 5 rounds
GL I think FB and CoC don't actually do max damage against single minions... I think I'm quoting Jon on this but I'll need time to find it.

I am quite certain back from my SFBM days that the damage against single minions was FAR LOWER than the total damage dealt against a 5-minion team.

Well, I was in the middle of making one when I saw your update. =P
mostly cause I wanted to practice trying to make the graph pretty,
but I don't know what happened to the colors; here it is anyway.
Poor Old MM. ;)
Thanks Nov. ;) As far as I'm aware, FB used to (back in CB1) gain damage the more targets it had (or was it the other way round? lol!) but in CB2 it was changed to be a lump sum, that got divided by the number of minions.
Which is why you can see your FB/CoC do less damage when a minion dies in that round form an attack that goes before it.

/me wants MM buffz!
I like how in three firing rounds CoC has already outdamaged all but fireball, and it's even on par with it then! Of course, this doesn't apply to SG vs. a full wall...
Well, it worth noting that CoC takes backlash like no other, so without TONS of hp, CoC can't live long enough on any 4 minion team to kill much of the opposition. My IF takes anywhere from 400k to 1.5 million a round in backlash with only 2.5 million base HP...
