What is better if you train a wall with steel skin as your skill? Mage or Mithril shield?
Or is it better to train phantom link on a wall, if you have a familiar that is set at the back of your line since you have multiple minions.
which brings up a question I will ask in another thread.
Don't train PL on a wall, if the wall has lots of AC. Train PL on a different minion, otherwise, unless the wall is being hit directly, its AC is not being used.
Mithril Shield is most likely better for a wall than a Mage Shield, assuming you have decent wall gear. The physical + magical reduction + extra AC from SS should be more than enough to outweigh the MgS.

Depends on the size of the MgS. If its one of the top MgS (+50), then the MgS is the better choice, if you're trying to block magic damage (certainly not physical).

Actually, Solare isn't completely right.
I remember reading a post that said that, basically, the MS would eventually outdistance the MgS in terms of magical reduction. I'm not sure how it works out post MgS/AC nerfs, but before then, once you went high end enough in terms of NW, the MS won out.
I could be wrong, but I remember something to that effect....
that's true, but that only applies to an entire wall set
