Being away I missed the TOE change.
It seems now to only work for physical damage which, IMO, makes it quite useless in the age of mage blender (SG blender).
I see few tanks as I play and how can a tattoo that works only vs a select few be very useful?
It seems to me that the ROS is much more powerful then the TOE which is quite the change.
Am I missing something about the TOE?
unless you don't know about the DD protection that went to the RoBF.
And the RoS is only effective because GA is now a tad too powerful.
But the ToE is still the only way to reduce physical damage, but as you pointed out. Not many tanks out there, and most of those are archers.

The ToE isn't what it used to be, certainly. It's damage reduction doesn't go up that much after a certain level. However, the max damage it can reduce does go up as the level goes up. But noone really hits for 6 mil anymore, so I suppose that doesn't really matter.
It does add SS based on its level for the wearer, but most walls would prefer to wear chest armor methinks.
The RoS, in my opinion, is a little bit OP, as it really has no counter at higher levels. Offering DM protection AND boosting the ED's (the ED's like GA being the real threat) of the wearer. It certainly is quite effective at the moment.
So no, you're really not missing anything about the ToE, it isn't nearly as good as before.
I used it for a recent tourney, it's certainly not use-less. However it is now more specific than any other tat. The one thing it does have going for it is the ability to have SS while training AP on the same minion. If the ToE also granted 1/10th its NW to each of your items that grant AC it might go a ways towards viability.

Is the wiki correct about it then?
It states Endurance is granted to all minions.
If by Endurance you mean the rather limited physical damage reduction, yes.

"But the ToE is still the only way to reduce physical damage, but as you pointed out. Not many tanks out there, and most of those are archers."
There are EC, AC, and Exbows as well, all of which work incredibly well at reducing physical damage, particularly Exbows.
The ToE is, ironically, now the weakest in its category of damage reduction (physical.)

Except there usually isn't much armor on a tattoo wearer, I think if that was team wide it might be viable.

"However, the max damage it can reduce does go up as the level goes up."
Sigh, why do people keep saying that ?
The FIXED damage reduction part and any other reduction caps thay might have applied all went out the window when the ToE was changed.
It now protects against a certain percentage of damage (percentage depends on level), no matter how large the damage is (yes, a tiny tattoo still blocks the listed percent out of a huge damage chunk).
Or at least so said Jon when he changed it.
Can anybody link to proof of the contrary ?
