As promised (threatened? :), steel skin is now an enchant defense spell.
Tattoo of Endurance still grants a small amount to its wearer only. This can stack with the spell up to the normal max effect.
SS effect is now shown in post-battle stats as "Innate Armor."

Test found no valid targets on which to cast Steel Skin.
Is that because it is so small compared to my minions HP that it doesn't even cast?

So does it have the same effect, but to the whole team?
So now I can train a base Steel Skin on one minion and it effects three other 20 HP minions for max?

Fixed.

Yes.

Can someone help me understand? I trained a base SS on my mage, thinking that it'll give the SS effect to all of my minions. My AC was 113 before, but the innate armor for each minion is only 1, and blank for my mage!
untrain the HP on your mage

so does the effect still need to be 1/8th HP level for max effect?
Henks AMF cast Steel Skin on all friendly Minions (100),
I get 1 innate armor on the first 3 of my minions, however none on the last one. Last minion has more base HP then the other 3.
Is this correct?

yes

yes
So AS has no effect on SS, only natural trained HP?

yes only natural
last night a base ss was giving 116 innate armor on my 20 hp enchanters when not dispelled, today it gives only 1. did something change with it overnight?
even a slightly trained Steel Skin only gives 1
i guess i was seeing some sort of display error last night then. so innate armor shows the ss effect rather than the resultant bonus effect?
doesn't look like it... I'm not seeing any increase in my AC at this point
Still doesn't look like it's doing anything.
Farmboy cast Steel Skin on all friendly Minions (259631)
Innate Armor 1 across the board
maybe you only need 1 to get the full effect? Just like AP...

Possibly the higher it is in number the less effective it is?

If you get 1 for your minion, then the SS is working. Otherwise it isn't It would seem.
Also, the display or the calculations appear to be wrong. My wall casts SS for 1/7 of his HP but he gets no innate armour and his AC remains low.
The enchanters and familiar get 1 innate and my archer doesn't (as expected because the cast is only 1/10 of his HP).
Of course this is another one of those EDs where you need X amount for the effect but in reality you need 10x that because of DM.

it's coming up blank for my tank, but I know it did something as i went from sure loss against KoP to mostly wins with occasional draws by training 520k SS ^_^
hatchy you need 1 mil SS to get some effect on that tank of yours
1/8 of natural hp so it seems and that is if DM doesn't dispel it

i know, but what i was saying was in response to "doesn't look like it... I'm not seeing any increase in my AC at this point ". Basically, i apparently don't have enough SS for an effect to show, but it's definitely throwing me an extra 40-50 AC ^_^

Should increases in AC due to SS be reflected in post-battle stats?
If so, I am not seeing any increases in AC with an "Innate Armor" of '1'. Is this right?

I get innate armour 2 for the caster.
Also a comment here that SS is far less useful now it seems as to get it to work you need to train it much higher than its requirement due to DM fizzling it.

Um... bump?
Anyone getting results? Or making sense of any of this?
I have a problem with my character bsskungfu, who previously had Steel Skin trained. Now, I cannot train any XP unless I have a skill trained.

Apparently, we have a massive (display?) bug.
For most people, it looks like "Inate armor" usually only displays as either 0 or 1, not more.
So far only people confirmed seeing an inate armor higher than "1":
* Freed (described in a post above), Inate Armor 2
* me on my T35 character (when I did have SS trained), up to 28 or so
* Solare on his regular character (with a ToE equipped)
I have recreated a character similar to the T35 character but at a much lower level, and I should have had at least a listed "17" on inate armor (or 18 if rounded up, from a 70 base AC on it at the time, with more SS trained than HP), but it kept only displaying the usual "1".
can we get a screen shot of the someone with more than a 1?
