on my tourney char i have as on my first char and my second minion is an archer do i still need life on the archer?

Yup. If someone dispels your AS and your archer has no life then he is a sitting duck.
It's up to you, really. If you go pure AS then I would recommend against HP. But, you only have two minions, so I actually recommend against AS in the first place, because for every two levels of AS you get one HP, and for every level of HP you get 1 HP, so you might as well just train HP because DM has no effect on it.
You might as well ignore DM altogether, since Koy doesn't have it trained.
